Party Pics & Such

 I was out today and Sabastian was in his pouch sleeping on my chest. He always gets so much attention, people love babies it seems, and my baby wearing is such a novelty to so many I encounter on a daily basis. I carry him everywhere when he is not in the car. 

So, I was checking out at Penney’s today (I got 2 pillows and 3 onesies for $2 after coupons!) when the cashier asked what his name was. I said Sabastian, and she told me I look like I would have a Sabastian.

I replied I have a Samara too.

She said yep, you look like it, and then asked if I was artsy?

I told her yes, I am almost done with a dual degree in art and psych. 

She said she could tell by my apperance I was. Not that I looked on the fringe of society but had that look. She then asked if I was going into Art Therapy, and I said maybe.

She encouraged me to do so, i said I wanted to work for the VA eventually. (I left out the point I want my PHD in sexuality) but she felt it was a noble cause.

It was fascinating to me that someone pointed me out so plainly when lately I am feeling oh so mommy like, and nothing like the woman I used to know.

Last night was the union Christmas party. We had a wonderful time. Even though all the wives and guys are friends, and we are on the outside of it all. I wonder why? I would love to have friends… But the more I spoke with some of them I realized these were not the women I had hoped for. Having a small baby at home partying is not on my list of things to do.

I looked pretty and felt good about myself! 

The guys he works with were happy if not shocked to see me. One guy even genuinely thanks Travis for controlling his temper so well. That concerned me slightlty, but I was happy to see he was!

and it seems I am one of the guys favorite wives. His name is Harley and near 60. He’s a sweetheart and it is flattering to be favored! I even got to  cut the buffett line with him. He looked great last night in a full tux!

One year I want to stay and gamble the night away. But this year is not the year for it. I was more than happy to come home and see my sweet little baby. He started laughing last night, but I wasnt home to see it, and he simply wont repeat it for me… No love for the mommy.
