A Racist Finally Comes Out
"Trayvon Martin could’ve been me 35 years ago." President Obama was referring to the incident in which a black 17-year-old was shot and killed (in self-defense) by a non-black person. What he failed to say was that any one of the hundreds of teenage blacks murdered by other blacks this year could have been him 35 years ago. Out of all of those incidents, Obama chose to focus on the one where the shooter was "white". The sad thing about this is that Obama does not have a clue as to how racist that is.

NOTES:
I’m not sure how that was racist either. It does suggest to me that Obama identifies with Trayvon to an extent, and for that I respect him. Empathy is important. I am grateful our president has it. [Rebel Soul] [p]
Why do you suppose that Obama only identifies with the black kid shot by a white guy, and does not say anything about the black kids shot by black guys?

You are absolutely right, Spoo. [Graffiti Forensics] [p]

Zimmerman is not white, he’s Latino.
But you are right, he should care about everyone who is shot in this country… but it’s not racist, it’s ignorant.
If this case didn’t have any press… he wouldn’t have addressed it at all, which is how the Whitehouse has conducted itself concerning the tens of thousands of people who have been killed by guns this year.
The only reason Obama addresses any shootings is if they are press worthy. A politician pandering for the camera, can you really act surprised here?

In point of fact, Zimmerman’s mother is Peruvian and his father is American of German extraction. That does not make him Latino or Hispanic in that he is only 1/2 of each. (Wikipedia shows the bias of referring to him as "mixed-race Hispanic".)
