So, someone from the recruiting station called Jake on Wednesday.

He got E-5!

Something was also mentioned about being assigned to Fort Campbell. Bleh. He’s scheduled again for MEPS on Thursday, so we’ll see if that’s all that’s available or if there are other options. I’m wondering if the fact that he’s Airborne qualified is playing into this, because Campbell is home of the 101st Airborne Division. After looking at the housing options on post and near it, I told Jake I’d almost rather just go back to Bragg than to Campbell. He’d still really like to get Carson if he can.

There has still been no mention on whether or not he’ll have to go back to Basic. So I have no idea if I’m going to have to be prepared to move in one week or ten (or more). My mom wants to just rent the house from us, but she still hasn’t found a job down here. So I don’t know what I’m going to do there, either. I can’t exactly just kick my mom out, but I can’t afford to be paying for two houses, either.

Wish us luck that a better post is available to Jake! While I know we’d make the best of things if we are sent to Campbell, what we’ve seen and read about the area doesn’t have us very excited about it.
