Ok, ok…..
Yeesh. I got pressured into sharing Noah’s gender before I wanted, and now I’m being called a BUTT for not sharing this one!
So, fine, you win! I can still surprise our family at least…..no chance of any of them reading this! And, well, we’re in a bit of a quandry over a name, and I really wanted to put the name on the stuff I’m printing for the frames.
So…….
IT’S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!
Yup, you read that correctly!! I was actually right this time! There is no mistaking it…..three lines, definitely nothing sticking out down there. I went right out to Target after my appointment and bought the sweetest little dress and blanket, and when I got home, I snuck the dress to Noah and had him walk over to Daddy to show him.
But, we’re at a standstill regarding a name. I want Katharine – that is the one name that has stuck with me throughout this pregnancy so far. But he thinks it’s too close to Katelyn. I really don’t care, seeing as how no one in the family has even seen Katelyn in over a year now. Not only that, though, but now Jake is saying that if we were going to name her after his mom, it’d have to be Kathy. Um, dear, you could call her Kathy if you wanted, I just don’t like it as a full name.
So, we went through the baby name book and discussed the names I had highlighted. He now thinks it’d be neat to use a name that’s Greek in origin, since my name is Greek…..and he and Noah both have Hebrew names, so the boys would match and the girls would match. Eh, ok. Katharine is Greek. But, noooooo.
He likes Alexis, Allison, and Alyssa. I know Alyssa was pretty high on my list when I was pregnant with Noah and didn’t know the gender, but it’s too dang popular right now. I don’t want her being Alyssa M. in school, ya know?
So, I figured I’d get some input from y’all. No matter what, the middle name will be Rae, and most of you know our last name, so it’s all got to flow and all that. So, give me your best ideas!
YAAAAAAY!!!! Congratulations! I guessed right on the last entry…do I get a cookie or something? 🙂

Congrats on having a girl this time around. I don’t think Katherine and Katelyn is similar at all.

Kathryn Rae flow quite nicely, I think that is a very nice name. And yes, he could always call her Kathy if he wanted to. Nothing wrong with that name (happens to be my name only mines spelled with a C. lol) I actually like Kathryn over the choices your hubby picked out so far. Katelynn is a name we’ve had picked out for a girl since our first pregnancy, still waiting to use it! lol Good luck

Just a general FYI on my observations: I subbed today with 130 sophomores and not one was Alyssa. I only remember one Alyssa at either daycare. But you don’t have to name her Alyssa if you don’t wanna. My daughter WILL be an Alyssa-pretty sure- if/when we have them. Even if that puts her in a class with 8 other Alyssas. Too bad. LOL. And CONGRATS! Thank you for telling us! I’m so excited for you

Kathryn and Allison get my vote! (Well, Kathryn is a pretty AWESOME name and Allison was one of my major names but we couldn’t use an A name with three nieces Amber Ashley and Audrey!) Congratulations, that’s so awesome and I’m happy for you both!

Thanks 🙂 Congrats on your little girl! Now I feel kinda bad for naming my Alyssa Alyssa though :/ I don’t want her being Alyssa C because I HATED being Amanda D cause there was ALWAYS at least one other Amanda in my class! i don’t actually know of any other Alyssa’s around her age and spelled that way…not yet anyways.

I like katharine. You can shorten it in alot of ways: Kathy, Katie, Kate, Kat…. see it works lol

My husband is Greek, and the name we’ve chosen for our first daughter is VERY Greek. Eleni Sophia. You know Phoebe is Greek, as is Zoe. If you google search “behind the name” the first website to come up is an etymology website, and you can search names my nationality. :]
