Seriously.

Ok, people on my mommies forum are pissing me off.

 

A mommy posted a video of a Trans-Siberian Orchestra performance. She said the song was Carol of the Bells.

 

It’s NOT.

 

Yes, Carol of the Bells is mixed in there. But the fucking song is Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24. And two other moms want to keep arguing with me over that.

 

I KNOW the fucking song. It’s my favorite TSO song….hell, maybe even my favorite Christmas song. It is Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24, and there is a reason behind that title. The arrangement is all theirs aside from incorporating Carol of the Bells into it.

 

Cheese and rice. I know it’s a stupid thing to get worked up over, but dammit, I’m pregnant so I’m allowed to get worked up over small things, right?

 

But how about this one? Someone started a thread asking what others thought on extended breastfeeding. She included a poll and one of her options said something about it being gross. This militantly "crunchy" mom got her back all raised over that one, let me tell you. She tried to say that no one has the right to say that extended breastfeeding is gross. Really? Last time I checked, this was the United States of America. You know, where we have the right to free speech.

Then again, she also tried to say that the "AAfreakinP" recommends breastfeeding for two years. No, they don’t. That would be WHO. The AAP says mothers should exclusively breastfeed for the first six months and should receive support for the first year and as long thereafter as mutually desired by mother and child.

This is the same woman, mind you, who jumped into a thread asking for personal experiences with a certain hospital out here with "They have a 98% epidural rate". So? It’s not like they’re giving anyone epidurals without their friggin’ consent. I had to laugh when the mom who started the thread said "I have no plans for an unmedicated birth so I don’t care about that".

 

*sigh*. I’m going to bed.
