Will she ever learn?

Brandi (my sister in law, for those that don’t know) is in the hospital.

She was in a drunk driving accident the other night. She’s lucky she walked away from it – she was thrown through the windshield.

Her boyfriend Mike wasn’t so lucky. He was the one actually driving at the time (They had both been drinking, and they started out with Brandi driving, but then Mike wanted to drive and she let him). He was killed immediately.

She just lost the best thing that ever happened to her. Mike wasn’t one of her usual bum boyfriends – he was a co owner of a laundromat, no drugs or anything. His parents are the folks renting Mamaw’s old trailer from Daddy.

And now his little girl is without a father.

This is at least the third accident that Brandi’s been in that has involved drinking. You would think that she’d get it through her head that she’s not invincible.

Anyway, please keep Mike’s family in your thoughts. I never met him, but his folks are really nice people – they always make a point of coming over to say hi whenever we come out to visit.

Oooh….little man’s ready for his last feeding of the night. Gotta go.

Oh how awful. I’m glad she’s doing fine. I’ve my share of death and near death experiences today too. How strange…

That is so sad. My uncle was killed in a drunk driving accident so I know first hand how hard that is on a family… knowing it could have easily been prevented.
