long update with PIC

 I can’t believe it… some how Samhain is only 10 days away. I feel like I just turned the calendar page to October and here we are October 21st already?! I’m not complaining… I just don’t understand how it went by so fast.

Lets see… since OD hasn’t been working….

Nicholai had his "12" month wellness check up today. He will be 14 months on Monday, he is 22 pounds, 31 inches long and right on track with his growth. She didn’t seem concerned with anything, said that he is developmentally right on track so that’s good. He didn’t get his shots today because his lungs aren’t clear from him being sick this past week so we have to start the nebulizer treatments AGAIN and he goes back in on Friday of next week to get shots. Which I’m not excited about. Though they checked him for anemia today by pricking his finger and squeezing blood out into a tiny vial and he didn’t even flinch when she pricked him. And she is standing there squeezing the crap out of his finger and he is just watching her. No tears, no sad boo boo face… nothing. He just sat calmly watching like she was holding his hand. My big boy. Let’s hope he does as well with the shots but I doubt it. He has 3 coming his way and I know he won’t be happy about that.

My cell phone died. Well not my phone but my battery. I put it on the charger and came back a little while later to find it isn’t charged so I move it to another outlet and make sure that I see the charging icon and let it sit. Come back a couple hours later to find my phone off and it won’t turn back on. Fanfuckingtastic. So I go to Best Buy, which is where I bought the phone less then a year ago, and they say "Sorry, you need to go to Sprint" Ok fine. So I go to the kiosk in the mall. There is someone and every kiosk in the mall that I walked past. EXCEPT Sprint. Heh. So I go to the Sprint store and they say "well we can’t do anything here on the Sales side and Repair doesn’t open until 10am tomorrow" So I’m pissed off and about to break down and cry because I have no phone. I can’t call anyone, no one can call me, most importantly I can’t get phone calls from my deployed husband. So I was pissed.

Drop my phone off the next morning and come back a couple hours later. The guy tells me that I need a battery. Apparently there is water damage to my battery? The rest of my phone is fine, it wasn’t in the rain, it didn’t fall in the sink, I don’t let Nicholai drool on it, but whatever. He told me where to go to get cheap batteries. So after sweetie boy gets up from his nap I go to this place. They are out until Friday. Try Best Buy, they don’t carry BlackBerry batteries. Go to Sprint… they DO NOT sell batteries at Sprint?! WTF?! How are you a cell phone store and you don’t stock cell phone batteries?! So I’m pissed. This lady then tells me that she will *wink wink* "see what she can do" and tells me to have a seat. So I have a hungry baby running around the Sprint store because I didn’t think this quick trip to the store to buy a battery would turn into my running all over damn creation to come up with nothing. She finally tells me that she ordered one for me.

So I go home and look them up. Retail value of these damn battery’s… $90! There is no freaking way I’m paying Sprint that much for a battery. And then this morning I get a sweet email from hubby that says he ordered me 2 cell phone batteries for less then the guy at the first store I went to wanted. And they will be here on Saturday. So I’m without a phone until they get here but I don’t have any other options now since they are already one their way.

The deployment fairy needs to leave me alone!

Nicholai’s halloween costume came in the mail today and I tried it on to make sure that it fits. OMG he is the cutest little pirate you ever saw. I costume fits perfectly, not too small and not too baggy. I’m so excited about the Halloween party just so I can watch him run around in it. Gah how did I get so lucky to have such an adorable little baby?!

I also got a gift card in the mail from my Uncle and his wife for Nicholai’s first birthday. Late I know but also perfect timing because I’ve been looking at Old Navy.com to try and find some winter clothes for Nicholai since last winter he was 4 months old and none of those clothes fit but things on Old Navy were just so expensive. And then I get a $50 gift card in the mail. Perfect! So I got $60 worth of clothes for $10 + the $12 I spent on shipping and tax. Can’t get much better then that. I even got him this little teal and black plaid dress shirt that comes with a tie because I know he will just be so cute in it. Plus a gray and a navy pair of fleece pants, a pair of lined jeans, a cute black long sleeved T with drums on it and a cute onesie with a polar bear on it. I’m not going to buy him anything else except for another pair or two of jeans from Kohls for $10 and then nothing more til I get to Jersey where the selection is so much better.

There is good news about hubby’s deployment that I’m not allowed to share for OPSEC reasons and because I don’t want to jinx anything. So just cross your fingers for us please.

I think that about sums everything up that has been going on here since OD went down… and now it’s 10:44 which gives me just enough time to get in some meditation before bed.
