moving, root canal, tour!
I’m so tired right now. Yesterday was a long day and a long night. The little nudger was kicking up a storm and I just couldn’t get to sleep. So I just lay there in Chris’s arms thinking how lucky I was to be with him. Its amazing how much you can love someone. Sometimes I’m still surprised about how great we are together. He makes me smile…. without even doing anything.
Well… this past week has just been insane. We moved on Thursday and that was just ridiculous. Hubby and I get up early and go pick up the U-Haul truck at 8. Our appt to pick up the keys was at 10 so that gave us 2 hours to load up the truck. Mike gets to the old place and starts helping us load up and then Molly shows up so we are in moving mode. Though no one will let me pick up anything. I know I know I’m pregnant but I can still put boxes in the truck. 10 finally rolls around so Molly and I head over to the office, no one is there. We wait about 15min and finally someone shows up. A woman who I’ve never seen before and never dealt with. She looks at me for a second and then asks if I’m moving in. I say yes and then i guess it clicks with her about who I am. She says that we can’t move into the place yet because the carpets haven’t been cleaned yet. OMG are you serious?! We came in to sign the lease over the weekend and it was Thursday and the carpets aren’t cleaned yet. I was at a loss so I go back to the old place and break the news to Chris who gets pissed and drives over there to find out what the hell is going on. She tells him that they should be out at 12 and it will take about 3 hours for them to dry…. but since we only had help until 2 and had the truck til 6 she decided to let us move in at 2. How that helps I don’t know but now we are just sitting around… U-haul truck full and no where to go. Finally 2 rolls around so I head over again.
It starts pouring down rain as I’m waiting to get the keys… heh… awesome. Thankfully it only lasts about 20min and then the sun comes out. Well the woman and I drive over to the place and start the walk through. The carpets are a mess and she starts apologizing about how she thought the carpet cleaners would have done a better job. Then the guy changing the locks hands her another copy of the keys and says that the carpet guys still haven’t gotten there yet and that he doesn’t know where there are. Ok… what the hell?! I was livid. Then Chris pulls up and I tell him and he is pissed. We are sitting there trying to figure out what the hell we are going to do when who shows up…. the carpet guys. So we are standing outside the place waiting for them to clean the carpets. And then we had no choice but to unload on to the SOAKING wet carpets. We manage to get the U-Haul unloaded and make a run back with Mike’s truck for the bed and the dresser. And then we call it a night.
Friday morning we are up and at it again. Mike can’t help so all we have are 3 cars to work with. Somehow we manage to get everything to the new place in the cars, dining room table included. It was probably about 7 trips back and forth all together and poor Chris was the only guy so he was carrying all the heavy stuff. He was done by the time we got everything into the place. Marissa came to help out at the end… it was nice to meet up with another SG girl. She will be here for good in August and she lives in our complex! Yay for neighbors.
The new place is AMAZING!!!! I love it. There is so much more space here, we have an alarm system, an actual dining room. I love it. I’m still unpacking boxes but don’t worry…. pics are coming soon.
Yesterday I had my root canal. It didn’t hurt as much as I thought it was going to though I did almost pass out during it but it was a combination of not eating a lot, laying down flat on my back which I don’t do because it just isn’t comfortable and the horrible taste of whatever they were doing sliding down my throat. I gave everyone there a good scare but it only lasted about 10min and then they kept going. I had no idea that root canals took so long. Over 2 hours later they were done, and it feels weird and my gums are sore but otherwise there isn’t too much pain.
Tonight is the hospital tour of the maternity ward. I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see where the little nudger is going to be born and boy is this baby moving around. Its so amazing to feel and I really think that I’m having a boy. Only 11-13 more weeks til we find out if I’m right or not.
Ok… that my update for now.
… don’t be afraid, sometimes they come true! … music is my life

wow what a horrible moving experience! I would have been livid! I had a root canal last year, they aren’t too bad, but annoying and long like you said. Now I have a fake pearly white tooth that doesn’t really match my other teeth, yay! lol!
