The nights have become dark and lonely

the hours, the days pass by so slowly

and if only I could find my legs

to wade through this painful waiting

the worry and the fear are trying to take hold

but I will be strong for you until then

I feel as if part of my heart was taken

I can see it but I cannot reach far enough

to pull my heart back together again

so I sit here and hold myself tight

knowing that you will return to me once again

and with that I can be strong for you until then

but remember that I think of you always

your spirit is always in my heart

I know that I will be by your side forever

if we can just get through this time apart

you are my hero, you hold the key to unlock who I am

and I will stand strong, just waiting until then

Oh, I miss Jersey so much. I’ve been in Germany for going on 2 years now…I wish there was a bigger base there so I could get stationed there. But thats like, 18 months away anyhow…damn extended tours…oh well…we signed up!
