Potty Town

So, last I wrote with words, our tyre had popped (burst, shredded… whatever word you want to use). On Tuesday I drove over to the mechanic just down the road (maybe a 5 minute walk?) where I got a new (well, used) tyre for $40, which made me pretty happy. I had no idea what price to expect. I like that there they ask for a solid dollar amount, rather than like $41.20 or something. Easy. It was ridiculously hot so I went over at lunchtime while Jake was on his break so Ash didn’t have to subjected to the elements. It worked out great and Jake was only 5 minutes late for work (not that it mattered, because I called to tell them he would be late, and the restaurant was dead at that time anyway).

Today, Grandma Lisa came over to hang out. We ate lunch downstairs with Jake. Ashley kept wanting to go see Barb, to the point where she would be yelling out Barb’s name whenever we were at our table. So Ash and I made many many trips between Grandma and Barb because she kept wanting the one she wasn’t with. My lunch was an over-medium egg with turkey and swiss cheese on an English muffin. SO GOOD.

After lunch and nap, the 3 ladies went to Kmart. Ashley got spoiled by her grandma. She got an adorable new outfit, some teething rings (doubles for what we already have so there will always be some frozen), a new bottle (she LOVES that bottle, she was trying to drink from it from the moment I showed it to her. She would not let it go. She did not let it go all afternoon/evening. It is actually on the bedside table right now because she wouldn’t part with it further than that), a colouring book and some crayons, and a potty (the stand-alone kind, but it has a bit you can take out and put on a normal toilet which I think is kinda cool). And then! We went to Froyo World. That was both good and bad. Good because … so yummy. Bad because… now I know there is something so yummy right in the plaza we grocery shop at every week. I got small amounts of vanilla and chocolate but then I put LOTS of various candy on top so it was a big ol bowl of sugar. Mmm.

This evening during Ashy’s naked time, we got the potty out of the box so she could see it and sit on it. She loved sitting on it, she kept standing up to spin or dance but then would come back and want me to sit her on it again (she is a little too short for it, by maybe an inch, so when she sits on it herself she is on the edge). Right before pjs and reading before bed, I put the potty in the bathroom and then sat her on it while I peed. Not long after I was done she said "pee" and stood up. And she had peed in the potty! I still am surprised and so freakin proud. What a good girl she is. No plans to actively potty train her yet, at the moment it is up to her when she sits on it and all that.

My foot feels weird.

Clever girl. What is Ashley playing with? Is your foot ok? Was it just asleep? *hugs*
