Surprise nap

We had a family christmas gathering last night. First time we’ve done it without an older generation there. It was us 3, Nick & Stacy, Kristen & Matt. We had done secret santa between the 6 of us (through a website, which was cool because we could put a wish list).I had Kristen and got her custom post its with her name on them. She thanked me with tears in her eyes so they were either exactly what she wanted or so not what she wanted. Matt had me, and I had put “crazy animal cookie cutters” on my list. I got 2 AWESOME sets of cookie cutters, with random animals. One set is small which is great when you are running out of dough.

Ashley got some clothes and a non-obnoxious toy remote from Kristen and Matt, but she also got this gorgeous vase with a flower and you press a button and the flower opens and it says “Ashley, will you be our flower girl?” It made me cry when I saw it. So she will be in their wedding when she is 2 and a half.

I started writing because Ashley was napping. Jake went to work so he handed the baby to me while I was still in bed. She sat on my belly, said ‘nap’ (a new word!), pulled a boob out of my shirt, started eating and fell asleep. She had only been up an hour so I didn’t believe she was actually saying nap until she was asleep.
