Mum thinks it should be better with avo

We haven’t been doing much this week. Mostly just lazing about, playing with toys with Ashley.

On Wednesday we went over to Candice’s place. She lives quite close to where I used to do exams when I was at uni, so I knew most of the way there (I still used Matty’s GPS, because it has been 8 years since I’ve been there) which felt awesome. I love driving around here because the roads are just so familiar and heart-warming in a strange way. Plus, Dad’s car is freakin awesome, all new and spiffy with massive headroom for Jake (I can put my hand on my head like a pretend mohawk and I don’t touch the roof, and I’m not short).

We spent HOURS with Candice and her (9 year old?) daughter Alleira. Last time we saw Alleira she was possibly 4, or maybe 3? Young. We got the best sushi I’ve ever had from this cute little place where the guy made your food for you right in front of you, and then we walked to a nearby playground to eat and play. I made sure Ashley and Jake got sunscreen (they are red-heads, so even though it wasn’t that sunny at that time, they are vulnerable) but they both managed to get burnt anyway. Jake on the top of his head, Ashley a bit around her nose. That made me feel terrible, I must’ve not done a very good job when I screened up her nose.

We played on the swings and the seesaw, and were amused by a little boy of about 2 who seemed fascinated by our group. He’d run laps around us. When I sat on the ground, he would run over, pat my hair, and run off laughing. When I sat on a bench to feed Ashley, he came and sat with me. So cute and odd.

We got icecreams, went back to their place and Ashley was introduced to Alleira’s budgie Joxer. She seemed scared at first, and when the bird was on her shirt she grabbed him and threw him away which was kind of cute. She did love watching him though. Ashley loves birds (that’s why she can identify magpies, she’s that in love with birds and magpies are always here)

I have a picture of Ashley with Candice and Alleira (that I haven’t bothered uploading yet… maybe tomorrow when it is hot and I am bored) but we didn’t get one of us. I actually don’t think I have a picture of Candice and I other than the ones from almost 7 years ago. So stupid, should have gotten a more recent one! Oh well, next time.

On the way home we swung by KFC because dinner had no protein for me. So I got a double (known as a double down in the US). I got the zinger version and oh my, was it ever. It was the most delicious thing ever and I was SO SAD when we went to KFC for lunch today and they didn’t have them anymore! Good thing I got one of them. But why did I put it off for so long? Argh, sillies. Oh man, it was good. I was a good wife and saved Jake 2 (small) bites because our original plan was to share one in case we didn’t like it.

Today the kids (me Jake Natey Matty) went to KFC for lunch. It was lovely, and freeing. So rarely do I get out without the baby. Matty drove like an insane person, so it was good there was no Ash in the car (not that he would drive like that with her there). We split a family burger box and there was SO MUCH FOOD which made dinner time difficult. We went to Cafe Spice and Sanjeev made the food special for us because Jake and I (and Ashley) and going back home soon. It was so good and I didn’t have space for much because lunch had only been 4 hours before.

Hopefully I get some good sleep tomorrow. Also hopefully the plumber comes early tomorrow, although I probably will still need to have a bath in the morning. I’m kinda sick of baths, I’ve had one every morning for the last 3 days, I think. Not a nice luxurious soaking bath, just enough water to be able to wash my hair easily. Boring.

Title: But I think she is wrong because avocado is gross except in sushi. (TV likes to say ‘it’s better with avo’… I think it is Subway? And Mum said that should be a title. Silly Mum.)
