No one’s lazy in lazy town
I almost always have a theme song for a kid’s tv show in my head. They are all such brain worms. Mean Ashley loving credits and therefore not letting me skip the songs.
I cleaned up almost everything from yesterday’s gathering. I still have bags of stuff from the desk/dining table that I have to either put back or re-home, but that can wait for a few days. All the dishes are done, except the stupid roasting pan, but that always takes a few days to fully clean. I haven’t decided if I’m putting the table back in the closet or not. It really looks quite good in the kitchen, but it just means that our mixing bowls and things end up living next to the fridge… which is next to the bathroom. I don’t know if I’m okay with that. We’ll see.
Ashley has already picked up one of my bad habits. I pick at things, mostly my hands (often until they bleed, because I’m an idiot like that) but pimples/scabs/other people’s flaking off skin, it all gets picked at by me. Today, Ashley has been picking at our hands. I must stop picking so she stops! I don’t want her stuck with this annoying habit. It sucks because I mostly do it when I’m bored and in that daydreamy state, but I have stopped before and I can do it again.
I wish I had a book to read. I don’t have anything to do for the rest of the evening. Our apartment is tiny so I have to be quiet, even typing is almost too loud. I have been playing pokemon but I’m almost done with my game so it is highly boring. (Only have to raise my Deino, he’s level 48; and then I have all the new pokes I can get.) I can’t deal with my bags of mess. I can’t mop the kitchen… or can I? I’d probably accidentally hit the mop on the side of the stove to make a loud noise. Bah. I don’t want to go to bed yet. Last night Ashley slept with me ALL NIGHT LONG, waking up pretty much every hour (at least) fussing and needing something in her mouth to calm her. It was exhausting. I was so disappointed when I woke up and it was Monday, because that meant I couldn’t sleep in. 3 more weeks, then I can sleep late maybe because there will be lots of potential babysitters under the same roof! Woo!
You need a sound mate for by her crib. They are amazing. I guess now they are called “Dohm by Marpac”. Very good product, other sound machines suck. But it between the kid and the source of noise so… normally between her and the bedroom door… or if you had a lot of sound coming in from outside put it in front of the window. Totally worth the cost. Sometimes you can find them on Craigslist/ebay

Read the Perks of Being a Wallflower! and UGH I pick too, it’s awful. Mostly my nails/cuticles, but I pick at my BF too and he wants to kill me for it 😛

Your potential babysitters will be working for a couple of weeks after you arrive, so you may have to fend for yourself for a while.

Books are good. I read a whole entire one yesterday afternoon/evening. NoNoMo update: I almost forgot that I hadn’t NoNoMo’d today! I’m getting in with 16 minutes to spare. Today I got a haircut. And an ATM ate my card because it said my PIN was wrong. Also, I’m half-contemplating whether I should borrow my nephew so I’ll fit in with you and Jenn… heheheh
