What we’ve been up to this past week.
Ashley being her usual chatty self.
Enjoying her new toy.
I’ve been too busy to write lately, unfortunately. I’ve kinda forgotten what’s happened since Wednesday, so I have to rely on pictures. Good thing I’ve taken a massive number of them!
On Thursday afternoon, Jake’s Dad came to meet his little granddaughter. Gale (and his wife Nancy) was here for about 3 hours during the dinner time. Ooh!! We had lasagne for dinner! Homemade! I made that on Wednesday, it was AMAZING. I made up the sauce that I usually use for pasta and then at dinner time used 3/4 of it in a delicious layered pasta dish that was perfectly cheesy and amazing. There was enough for 6 people, but that just meant that I had lunches for 2 days and we had it for dinner for 2 nights. And then Jake had the final piece for dinner the 3rd night. Best meal ever.
On Friday, I introduced Ashley to all her toys, because I was interested to find out which ones she showed an interest in. She most liked the little doll baby that is featured in a video above.
On Saturday we got out early and went to the barber shop. The place was packed, but everyone wanted to talk about Ashley, so that was pretty good, the time flew by. After that we came home and then went to the restaurant downstairs. We shared pancakes and they were AWESOME. I had banana and Jake had choc chip. Mmm…
Ashley likes to sit up properly while sitting on me, and likes to stand up while we just barely hold her under her armpits. It’s so much fun. Plus, isn’t she the most adorable thing while standing like that? 2 feet of CUTE.
Sunday was mostly uneventful. For dinner, however, we headed off to a pizza place to have eats with Gale, Nancy, Nick and Stacy. This place was amazing, I got a woodfired bbq chicken pizza with pineapple and it was just so delicious. I could have eaten it all, but I wanted to save some for lunch today, and also everyone else was totally done and just sitting around so I stopped eating. It’s hard to eat at normal pace while holding a baby. Ashley did so well, normally that time of night is constant cuddle and feed and mess-that-diaper time, so the fact that she just sat there sucking on her pacifier while I ate was amazing. I fed her once I was done. I was just so proud.
I think Ashley is wanting me now. Jake has been a lovely man and been holding the babe while I showered and then wrote this. I wanted to try and make cookies too, or at least the batter, but that might be an activity for tomorrow. You have no idea how badly I want to bake, it’s been almost 3 months!
I love that picture of her sleeping in your arm. Too cute.
