Waving at a monkey *edit
Dad and Matty left today. I had to take them to the hotel where a shuttle bus was that will take them to JFK airport. Honestly, judging by how fast the shuttle went when Jake and I took one once, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were already at the airport.
We all had cheeseburgers for eats today (all being… me, Dad and Matty). They both realised that the cheeseburgers are AWESOMELY DELICIOUS and I think they now wish they had tried them earlier.
I keep forgetting to mention things in my entries. Last Sunday, Grandpa Matt (too many Matts in the family, he will have to be grandpa matt from now on. Ashley’s grandpa, of course) came to visit the little darling girl. He came over in the afternoon, so he was here for dinner. We got chinese food because they were open! I was really glad they were open, I had been wanting chinese food. And apparently, so had Matty, he said he had mentioned it to Dad earlier that day.
On Wednesday we went to Senor Panchos for dinner. I was SO IMPRESSED with Ashley, she was calm for almost the whole time. I’m glad she doesn’t eat constantly from about 5pm to 10pm anymore, these days the stocking up for overnight starts at about 8. So I got to eat most of my dinner without having to hold a baby, my food was still hot when I ate it… it was great. I had to change her at one point but we had fun with that even. THere was groovy music playing so I was dancing and Ashley was grinning at me whenever I danced. Good times. We even got dessert, but they were crazy. Matty’s cheesecake came out first. Dad and Jake got fried icecream (it arrived ON FIRE!) and that arrived as Matty finished his cake. Everyone was done by the time I got my sopapillas (dessert nachos) which was a HUGE plate and I felt rushed because no one else was eating anymore so I didn’t want my dessert by the time it showed up. Jake ate half of it, at least. I would have eaten more… if it had showed up with all the rest of the things.
Ashley is sitting next to me in her highchair. Look….
She was in the middle of a sneeze when I took the photo. I don’t know why I didn’t think of putting her in that chair until now, it makes so much sense. She is sitting at my height, so she can sort of see what I see, and I can see her better because I don’t have to look to the floor. Poor little one has hiccups at the moment. I’m kind of looking forward to dinner tonight, I might be able to eat at the same time as Jake, both of us at the table! Wow!
When Dad and Matty were saying goodbye to Ashley, she started crying. I wonder if she knew what was going on or if it was just coincidence? Either way, she shed the most tears. I haven’t cried yet, I think that’ll probably happen tonight. Although maybe not. Usually I cry because someone else started it, so that’s why I’ve been dry-eyed so far. This apartment is weird and spacious now, everything was squished together, in here especially, so that the blowup mattress could fit. It’s nice to be able to walk to the windows if I wish.
*edit*
Can’t believe I didn’t write about this yesterday OR today. Ashley’s 2 month birth-aversary was yesterday! I can’t believe I’ve been a mother to this ‘little’ infant for 2 months already. Such an amazing 2 months.
your daughter is so cute! I’ve never had fried icecream before.. it sounds interesting.

Gee that photo of the group really highlights how much like Jake Ashley is. You are so clever at getting a photo of a sneezing child!! how cute. And you wouldn’t have thought of putting Ashley into the high chair earlier coz she hasn’t been able to sit up for long. Love you lots!!!

Now I’m sad that I’ve never had a Split Rail cheeseburger. I like burgers. And cheese. Also bacon. I imagine they could include bacon. We did have multiple delicious burgers while I was there though… 😀 Happy 2-month-oldening to Ashley!
