Snowed on by life

I feel like I did nothing today. I did do stuff, it was just all stuff I can do sitting down at the computer, so it just feels like I’ve wasted the day away.

This morning I bought Jake’s christmas gifts on amazon. I was only going to get us one thing each this year (being cheap in hopes of saving money for once there are 3 mouths) but I got an email a few days ago from amazon saying something that I know Jake wants was going to be a black friday deal. So I got that as well as a book he told me he wanted last month. I told Jake both of the things he is getting… probably yesterday. He doesn’t remember. His memory issues come in handy here, because he would have to work to retain the memory, and why do that for things that could be a nice surprise? So he purposely lets it go. Which is GREAT for me, because I don’t have to keep things a secret, yet they are still a surprise. We work out well together.

So I got his 2 things, and then had to get something that was at least 74c so that I could get free shipping for having an order over $25. That amused me. Got half of my OD-KK gift, so I feel like I did lots of shopping! This afternoon I made next year’s calendar (I LOVE having a calendar with my own photos, it is so… fun! Plus, most months I get to think "man, that’s an awesome photo. I rock!") which because of deals and discounts is only half my gift, so I’m well and truly on my way to being done with christmas shopping. I think we are doing a $20-gift-for-anyone thing with Jake’s siblings and their partners again (not that I have heard anything… grr at people that don’t respond to my facebook messages asking questions…) so I have to get those, but other than that, and a photo album for my other half of a gift… I think I’m done. It’s always a cheap gift-year when we don’t go to Aus.

This afternoon I also fully organised the grocery list for thanksgiving so that we will have everything in the house by tomorrow evening. Then throughout the week I’ll be able to slowly make a few things, like cranberry sauce and pies and maybe even hardboil some eggs… I’m pretty certain that other than the big mad rush to make sure everything is appropriately temperatured at time of service, I’m going to be kinda bored and not have much to do on that weekend, especially Sunday. But that’s how it was last year as well. Mostly just waiting and being anxious because people are coming over omg.

I’m tired of being hungry all the time.

my sister is hungry all the time, too – that is her only symptom!

I’m struggling with KK gift this year. I make our calendars too … LOVE them!!

It’s so cool that you can use Jake’s memory (or lack thereof) to your and his advantage 😀

I really need to get started on my KK… Thanks for the reminder! You and Jake are just adorable.

I hear you! I was hungry constantly when pregnant (and if you breastfeed it gets worse, you’ll be constantly thirsty too!!). Good luck with your KK gift(s), I need to start on mine too 🙂

Hey, I just thought I’d check out your diary as I read Jake’s. Hope you’re good. What’s KK? Is it like secret santa for Americans where you exchange gifts?

I spend a lot less at Christmas time when you don’t come over too. But I love seeing you so that balances out. I still laugh a bit inside at you and your brother last year, shopping at Adelaide mall and then excitedly telling me how much I owed you for some more Christmas presents. I’m glad I didn’t add up that lot. hehehehe
