You’re a lump from the peanut aisle, my love.
Baby says "hello" in some form of kick-morse-code.
This evening, Jake and I went to the hospital where we will get to meet our little one. I’m glad we did, I feel so much more relaxed and ready to do this now (not that I wasn’t already. My way of thinking is… I have no choice, there is absolutely no way a baby is not coming out of me. And I’m usually pretty awesome at stuff when I don’t have a way out. So therefore, I’m gonna rock this, and it is pointless to stress or worry).
The hospital itself is really confusing. We had to get to the 3rd floor, but we had to use the correct elevators. So we went up the first lot of elevators, realised our mistake, went back to ground floor, wandered along a bit further, and then found where we needed to be. And once we were out of the elevators, the doors were locked. No sign or anything saying we needed to press a (rather hidden) intercom button so we could get buzzed in. So we got confused there (thankfully a nurse was on her way out and let us in). That nurse also told us we needed to go left once we were in, which was useful because the desk wasn’t visible from where we were.
Once we said we were there for a tour of the area, a lovely nurse named Linda came over. She looked a LOT like Michelle (Lisa’s best friend) so that was pretty cool. Turns out she has the same sort of bubbly friendliness to her that Michelle has, which was even cooler.
We got shown one of the rooms (they are pretty huge, not that I have anything to compare it to), and she showed us how the beds are for labor/delivery (coz the feet part removes! So amusing looking) and there was a big confy chair for Jake to sit in, and each room is a private one with it’s own bathroom/shower… just cool. We got shown how the nicu and operating rooms for c-sections are rightthere, and where the baby would go if I needed a few hours break to recover after the birth (although they prefer (I don’t know if that’s the word I’m looking for) baby stay with us, which is great because that’s what I prefer too) and… I think that’s it.
While we were there, it was pretty obvious someone had had a baby that day because a giant swarm of people came in at once. (like 10 people. That’s a swarm!) That amused me.
Overall, it’s small but spacious, fits with the way I want things… and I know how to get to that area which is the best part right now.
I really have to stop saying "feb-ry" when people ask when I’m due. It bugs me, but I keep doing it!
Title: I wish I knew why. I said that to Jake one day, and now it just sounds creepy/pervy, but it wasn’t meant that way.
I saw you on the front page! I just got a tour of the maternity ward, too, yesterday. Congratulations!!! 🙂 For the record, I didn’t find the comment creepy. lol <:3~

Hi baby! So good that you’ve got a good hospital in which to have your little girl. They’d better look after you good and proper. *nods*

Yay for a hospital tour! It’s always way less stressful to know where to go and (kind of) what to expect. If you need any gory details, I can tell you tons! 😉

Glad you had the chance to get to know the hospital a bit. It sounds like a decent place, even if it is a confusing layout!
