Oh right, your name. That makes more sense than…
We had chinese food for dinner. Take-out, not homecooked. When it’s just us, this is something we do… 5 times a year, at most. My point is, this is a rare occurance. We got the food from a place in the same plaza as where we grocery shop. We’ve gotten food there once before, and while it was better than the place in town (rather than 1 town over which is where it is located) it wasn’t anything amazing. Just generic, same-old take out chinese food.
Today, oh man. They’ve really stepped up. We both inhaled our food because it was so good we didn’t want to stop eating. I’m hungry now and contemplating having more. Screw it, I will. As soon as this entry is over. Except I couldn’t wait that long, took a break from writing this, and went and had another round of food. OH MAN that stuff is good. I got lemon chicken and vegetable fried rice. The chicken was delicious chicken breast and had a yummy lemony glazy sauce slightly on it, rather than dry chicken coming with a tub of yellow sauce. Fried rice is mmm, like always. Even the broccoli that came with the chicken was really good. Made me happy. Happy tummy! Problem is, makes me want dessert really bad. Earlier I wanted mud cake, or cheesecake. Now I want chocolate moousse (that typo is on purpose. Heh, moo).
Today, everything got good and sorted. All that stuff that was building up to stress me the other day is now completely 100% gone.
We had gotten confusing paperwork saying Jake will be switched to a new prescription insurance thing, and it kept being all USE ONE OF OUR NETWORK PHARMACIES BLAH BLAH! and not saying anywhere how to find out what is. Thankfully, lots of googling helped that. The pharmacy we pretty much live next door to is in fact a part of their ‘network’, which is great because it means Jake can take his meds in and pick them up without me needing to drive him anywhere. (we also live next door to a grocery store and a bank, and a very quick walk from the post office. This area ROCKS for a place without public transport, coz Jake/we can do so much on foot!)
Found out Jake’s reunion in a few weeks costs $42 a person to attend. That (plus the maternity dress and new pants for Jake) would have had to be instead of christmas presents for each other if Jake had wanted to go, but once I told him it actually costs, he was all "screw it", and then thought about it and he says there isn’t even anyone going that he’d really super want to catch up with and he’d probably just spend the night sitting in the corner with me or something, so total waste of money. This is a relief because 1) I hate going to fancy things. Dressing up? Not fun! 2) Ugh, money. and 3) I’d have to SHOP for a DRESS. So yeah, score. (The reason I only just found out about the $$ is because the whole thing is being organised on facebook as a private event, and Jake I guess wasn’t paying attention to the updates on that page and such. I went undercover as Jake to find out when/where and that’s the only reason I know anything.)
Tried to find on the hospital’s website if there was a way to organise a tour of the birthing area. (This one in itself isn’t really anything stressful, I think it was just that it was at the end of the day of all these other things) Only way they mentioned it was that it was included in the almost $200 classes they offer. I used the ‘contact us’ form asking if they do tours, got a phone number to call, and organised that today. We go see where our baby will be born on Tuesday evening. (The director of the ‘Women & Infants’ Unit’ didn’t want us to tour on Saturday morning, our prefered time, because she works Mon-Fri. Then at the end she says the nurse on duty will be giving the tour. So why exactly did it need to be when she was on? Oh well. Still cool.) I don’t know how I lucked out, especially seeing as I’m on state-paid insurance, but the hospital is one that leans towards more natural style of things without being preachy, there’s even a birth center as part of the hospital where it’s all midwives and you can have a waterbirth and things like that. I think that’s rather cool. I don’t want a waterbirth, but how did I pick the one hospital in CT where I could have one? I just think it’s all awesome because I lean more toward natural… my point is I am very much looking forward to Tuesday evening.
I swear there was more stressing me out the other day, that doesn’t seem like much. Maybe I was just in a really down mood which wouldn’t help.
Good things from the last 24 hours! Real good things!
Called Charter (cable/internet company) and got a … (refund? we haven’t paid yet… rebate? Sure, why not) rebate for the week we had no internet/tv. While on hold I did the math in my head of how much should be off our bill and then the customer service woman came back and said the same number, but more precise. So that’s a score. It was really easy too, not counting the terrible sound-quality of the call, I could barely hear – let alone understand – the woman, but who cares. All sorted!
Baby is proving herself to, in fact, be a leaping impaler like predicted. Last night I was relaxing on the couch and my belly moved. Drastically. As I said to Mum in an email this morning (I’m lazy and getting hungry again, entry needs to end soon!) "I was just reclining on the couch nice and still and my belly jumped up to the right a bit, and then down to the left really hard. Hilarious looking. Jake saw it out of the corner of his eye but he thought I was just moving it around at first." It was freaking weird and awesome and amusing and I want her to do it again! It is so amazing to see my body move in a way that looks like there is an alien inside of me trying to get out. So so great.
I really need to get back into taking pretty nature pictures. Then I could have something to break up this entry of MANY WORDS.
Title: PENIS.
A hilarious quote from The Big Bang Theory a few weeks ago. I had to pause it, laugh like an idiot, rewind, watch it again, laugh like an idiot all over again… because the delivery of that line was just so perfectly amusing. Now it is one of my favourite things to say to Jake. I just have to say "Oh right, your name" and he’ll laugh and understand and it’s awesome. I love stupid amusement.
Now I want Chinese food … mmmm. I often get lemon chicken, too!

Mine cost like $80 a person! Plus plane tickets. Why do they make those things so ridiculously expensive?
Warning Comment
That’s because you do have an alien inside you who is trying to get out!!! ~jo
