That was possibly a baby…
Trying to think of a title, before writing the entry because I am on my phone so everything is weird, and I got a strange feeling in my belly. It’s hard to tell because I also have a lot of gurgling going on (mexican dinner woo!) but it makes a good title either way.
So today is Jake’s and my 5th wedding anniversary! Hard to believe it has only been 5 years. Sunday was 6 years from meeting face-to-face, and Thursday is 7 years from when I hit the random button and found my brainmate. To celebrate, we went out to dinner with my mum (who we picked up on Sunday!), Jake’s mum Lisa, and Michelle (who Jake calls his ‘first-mate momma’ and is Lisa’s best friend) to Senor Panchos, where previously mentioned tasty mexican food was consumed. I, of course, had chicken fajitas, as did mum. We know what we like. So I ate that, and the pile of fresh tortilla chips and salsa, and enjoyed the company of lovely people that I am so glad I can call family. The waiters were amusing too – one kept picking on Michelle (in what seemed like a semi-flirty manner), and the other was fascinated by the fact that Mum was from Australia and wanted to know how long it took to get there and such. He even gave Mum 2 Senor Panchos tshirts and asked that she take a picture of her wearing it in Oz and email it to him so it could go on their website/facebook page! I want to wear one of the tshirts… the front says “1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, floor” and the back says “I got floored at Senor Panchos” so I feel that would be funny for a non-drinking pregnant woman to wear. Not out in public, but at home for a photo, sure!
Jake is being all adorable right now, at the computer writing an enty about what we were doing 5 years ago, and I’m being gassy and belly-ouched (I think I need to get real maternity pants…) on the couch, writing about gas and tshirts.
So on Sunday we picked up my mum from JFK airport. It is so lovely having her here. Yesterday we had lunch with Jake downstairs, and we went for a wander through the drug store, the grocery store, and the post office. Such excitement! Today when we went downstairs to eat with Jake, no one came to serve us, Jake had to go up and tell someone to come over. The new waitress Sarah came over and said “oh, I thought you were just visiting Jake” …really? I don’t like her very much.
I have an ultrasound in less than 12 hours! Jake, Mum and Lisa get to squish in the tiny room (I have plenty of space) to watch. We get to find out if it is a girl or boy! So exciting! I feel almost too excited to sleep, hopefully I can because I slept terribly last night (I kept waking up coughing like a seal.)
Congrats on your anniversary! I’m so excited about the baby! 🙂 I know what you mean about being too excited to sleep. Hopefully you get plenty of rest!

I might have to find a way to hijack some internet so I can find out what the baby is! (Because, y’know, I’m assuming you’ll be announcing it :p ) I hope you’re not so coffee tonight.
