No title, but sweaty fingers.
(I feel like I look a lot like my mum in this photo…A LOT)
I still feel a touch crummy today, but nothing like yesterday. Apparently orange juice rips my throat to shreds right now so rather than drowning in the stuff to get a super vitamin C boost, I have to avoid it. I did get a pretty decent pile of vitamin C from the lemonade that I was craving whilst grocery shopping, so that’s nice. Mmm, lemonade. So glad I found natural stuff so I didn’t have to compromise and consume something in which a lemon related ingredient was about 5th on the list.
This morning, Jake and I were very… organised. We were off to the laundromat before 9am. Actually I think we got there AT 9am. Which is way better than our normal arrival time. We had to clean sheets/blankets/pillow/towel for mum (Ellen used them all just last weekend, otherwise we would have had them already fresh-clean) and our doona that hadn’t been washed since before the cats were here. The cats liked to sleep on the doona a lot which also meant they (and by they, I mean Lexi and her frequent foamy-water puke) threw up on it a lot. So now everything is CLEAN! It was awesome that we were there so early because there was maybe one or two other people, which meant we got to use 6 of the free dryers for our stuff which cut down on our laundromat-time significantly.
After laundromat, we went grocery shopping and somehow spent a massive amount of money. I’m not quite sure how, even though I’ve been over the receipt twice and there are no mistakes, it just seems like we didn’t buy all that much. Except I guess we did maybe. Maybe it is a result of not going shopping last weekend? Instead we just scrouged (hehee) for dinner all week, mostly coming up with pretty delicious ideas, which is awesome seeing as we still haven’t restocked our freezer properly. I don’t know where I’m going wrong with that, I feel like we have all that we normally have in there, but it is rather empty looking, even with the big ziplock bags of ice that are still in there from the hurricane (I had filled 3-4 big bags full of water the night before the power went out, I’m sure if it hadn’t been out for more than 3 days that would have actually saved some of the stuff in there because the ice itself did not melt. It was just not well-placed.)
After lunch and waiting for the air-cons to make this apartment a non-disgusting place to be (the humidity level was something like 90%, and in here is always worse than outside, so it was like death in here. It wasn’t a hot day either, about 25/77 at the peak which was hours after we got home) Jake and I set to cleaning. Now the place seems sparkly, smells nice, and prodives a nice feel when you walk around barefoot, which is very important because I don’t allow shoes inside. It only took us a few hours, and then we got to have delicious chicken and tomato sandwiches for dinner. I LOVE the produce at the store-next-door, it is so fresh and awesome. The only way they suck, and honestly I haven’t bought these from them in a while, is bananas. I should see if they still only have purely green bananas. That is not something I want from such a convenient store, it would be awesome if they now also have ripe bananas, then I could get a snack on the rare occasion that I run out. Mmm, banana.
What was I talking about? Oh yeah. The place is clean, I’m still nose-stuffy, and now I’m sore and exhausted from doing things all day. Airport drive tomorrow YAY! I wish I could find my pretty toll purse, I don’t like having to keep the toll money in a boring resealable bag. Cute little blue fluffy thing, where did you go?
Is it just me, or is your hair heaps shinier now that you’re pregnant? (Not that it wasn’t shiny before, but now it’s like BAM!)
