Swearnami!
I made a deal with Mowgli the other day. If he would stand up and reach the door as high as he could AND I got to take a picture of it, I would let him out to explore the back room. So instead, he jumped up and looked out the window! Clever clever kitty. It actually happened once when I was out in the back room, so I heard a bang, looked at the door, and saw a cat watching me.
So now that I have the picture, the deal is he gets a little time out in the back room (supervised, of course, there are many things a cat shouldn’t get into back there. One of them being the disgustingly blackened room where the furnace (?) is. He got in today, and then I had to clean him with slightly soapy water because he got so very dirty from the oily ick) if he does this. Its a good deal, I get to laugh at cuteness, he gets to play in a new place. The only problem is when he poses like this instead, because it once got him let out the back.
I finally put stuff on our bookcase and in the drawers of our tv unit that we bought/assembled when Dad was here. That is all our DVDs and books. And DS games. In the tv unit, the left drawer is CDs and the right is Wii games. The green thing underneath is our Wii board with a silicone skin. All the stuff in/on these was either on our DVD rack (that I think I’m going to freecycle) in a giant ziploc back, or in a little white/clear plastic ‘chest’ of drawers. I had to bleach-wash the white drawers because they were so dirty nothing could get rid of it. But now, they are nice and clean looking and holding all our towels – which also used to be in a giant ziploc bag. YEARS ago, when we lived in the old apartment with Matt & Lisa, I bought a 3-pack of 20 gallon ziploc bags because we had way more stuff than we had space. One bag was books, one was towels, and the third was Jake’s extra clothes that he hadn’t worn in years. And we got rid of all of those a few months ago when we gave them to goodwill. So finally, I am not using giant bags as storage. I have DRAWERS and SHELVES. It makes me feel grownup, and I’m not quite sure why.
Other than that, doing nothing. This weekend is a lazy weekend, as is every 3rd weekend. So we woke up at 11 today. Feels like forever since I’ve done that. Only a few years ago, 11 was waking up early…
OOH! I can’t believe I almost forgot!! Ellen is coming to visit!! If I remember correctly (she sent me a text message with the dates but it is not within reach right now and I am still food-baby full from dinner 4 hours ago) she will be here from the 22nd of August until the 19th of September. 4 whole weeks! That kicks total freakin patootie.*grooves with yay*
Oh, and also, Katey came up here yesterday with a giant bag of food for the cats, and said it may be 2 more months until she finds a place. I can’t remember if she said ‘at least’ or ‘nearly’ but still… yay! I am so loving having the kitties here. Lexi the little snuggle-bucket, Mowgli the media mogul, and Grace the crazy bobcat/meerkat/ball of fluff that doesn’t stay still and is rarely out during the day so I don’t have many pictures of her.
Title: I had a better one the other day but I WROTE IT ON MY HAND rather than on a piece of paper, like an idiot. So it is gone. Swearnami was also on there, but I remember that one. Mostly because I just unleashed a swearnami when I realised our neighbours (probably across the road) are using their leafblower. At 9:30 at night. I have a long history of strong hatred of leafblowers, and people that use them for hours at a time.
‘Swearnami’ was from the Simpsons. Almost as good as ‘trappuccino’ from the movie.
Want to know something weird? I googled ‘trappuccino’ to make sure I got the spelling right, and then I googled ‘swearnami’ to see if it is hyphenated or not (there was only one result, and it was, but only one result? who cares!) and I misspelled it the first time, leaving out the r.
I AM BEING STALKED BY LEAF BLOWERS WHAT IS GOING ON?!
Mowgli is such a clever kitty! ‘He’ should be a ‘she’, doing cute things in order to get what he wants…

Yay kitty! Cats really are awesome 🙂

Mowgli is hilarious. Remember the saying: curiousity killed the cat. I can see why people might have started saying that… LEAF BLOWERS!!! Do you and I have a hatred of them for the same reason?

Kitty! 🙂

Silly Fair only having candy apples. What’s with that?

The leafblower really is the most futile and annoying human invention. It kind of quantifies and makes tactile the essence of the stupidity of the human race. *nods* Lurve your new storage solutions! Isn’t it sad how exciting furniture is when you’re all growed up? Hehe. Kitties is made of cuteness. :o) ~jo
