Eat My Pie – Pi(e)lot Pie – This Pie Is Tart</b

For… ages, I have been wanting to make a pie. Possibly since I got a "500 pies and tarts" cookbook for christmas. On the weekend we bought a $2 pie plate (glass pie pan? I think it should be called a plate) because the only one we had was for GIANT pies. So, using valentines as an excuse, and to save us buying a box of chocolates to share just because they are out there, I made a pie today. This way we can enjoy it all weekend and maybe even on Monday if there is still some left over.

It was so much fun to make. I had never used gelatine for anything before, so that was a new thing. I hadn’t ever folded whipped cream into something, but I knew how to, so that was also fun.

It is FANTASTICALLY DELICIOUS. I am so proud of myself. Awesome, awesome pie.

There’s just one problem. I’ve always said that I was allergic to cream because I just don’t like it. But I think that may be reversed – I think I don’t like cream because I’m allergic to it. Mildly. Eating a slice of pie (an 1/8 of it… so… an ounce of whipped cream) gave me a massive headache for an hour or so afterwards. When I made chocolate mousse last year with the little bit of leftover cream from something else… also massive headache cause. So now I have 3 slices of pie left and I want to eat it because it is so tasty but I know it will hurt me. Stupid delicious pie.

Title: Just a bunch of random things that have been said this afternoon that amused me. When I told Jake the pie made me feel blargh, he said it was ok because it was a pilot pie, the first one I’ve made. It took him a few minutes to realise why I was laughing, which made me laugh even more. I’m married to silliness.
