Mini bucket of always.
Tomorrow just after 8am, we are heading off to the airport for a fun, international, 24hr, higher than clouds travel. Our flight isn’t until noon but you know, it’s apparently good to get there 3 hours before an international flight.
I’ve been rather slack the last few days when it comes to updates, so hopefully I can remember what I’ve been doing (actually, I haven’t really been slack, just busy doing other things like hanging out with Natey and other awesome people).
On Monday, Jake and I went with Natey, Claire and Huey (the dog) for a nice walk around a river-area. After that, Claire ran away to go wash Huey (he was already smelly and then he jumped in the water and got more smelly) so Natey, Jake and I came back here and watched hours of Big Bang Theory. We’ve finished it now, which makes 3 complete shows we have watched in the just-over-a-month since we got here. Two of which were new to Jake and I, and now we are hooked on the amusement.
For dinner that night, we met up with Claire again and went to TGI Fridays. I had a ‘char grilled’ chicken sandwich… which was good but kind of flavourless. I was full from the massive afternoon snackage though so I didn’t really care.
Tuesday… I don’t remember what we did with the day. I think we just lazed around. In the evening we went to a delicious local indian place as a group of 8 (Mum, Dad, Jake, me, Natey, Claire, Matty, and Jemima) where loads of food was eaten. I really liked the lentil dish that Claire got, very nums.
After dinner, Mum took Jake and I over to her friend Marilyn’s place wher ewe sat outside for an hour or so chatting and getting eaten by mosquitos. Well, mostly I got eaten my the mozzies. Exclusively on my right hand. I looked almost disfigured when we got home, my entire hand was red and swollen and deathly itchy. Thankfully it seems to have calmed down by now, I’m just slightly spotty and not itchy.
Today… I packed. I packed for an hour, and then Natey announced he was going to watch the new episode of Rules of Engagement, so I stopped and watched that with him. After the tv show I went back and packed for another hour and then we ran off to the shops to have KFC for lunch. And buy donuts (which are sitting in front of me being very tempting… but I’ve already eaten my third so I would be stealing off Jake or Natey if I ate any…), and pick up a little something for the gift thing we are doing with Jake’s family next weekend. We came home, I packed a bit more, then had to wait for the clothes to get washed and dried before I could complete that stage of packing. Now all I have left is the few shower bits, and the stuff that we wore today (and our towels) which are in the machine as I type.
Somehow I seem to have lost a pair of jeans. The pair of jeans that I wear when I travel, because they don’t need a belt (my belt is rather metallic…) but they are loose enough to be comfy. Plus, they don’t make me feel super lazy being completely dressed in sweats. Which is what I’m going to have to do tomorrow. I’m very confused as to where my pants went. I did gain a sock this trip that I thought I had completely lost, so maybe this is the price to pay for that. Stupid pants.
I smell dog. Oh, Huey is laying right behind me. That makes sense!
The 4 of us (well, 5 if you count Huey) went to a playground near Northland this evening. Because I picked where to go, I had to drive (with Claire following me) which was loads of fun as I hadn’t been there in possibly almost 5 years now. Thankfully I knew exactly where I was going, and fun was had, but I still got confused. I did give Jake a mini tour though, pointing out the Star Mart where a bottle of Coke exploded on me (when I was in the car… man that got sticky) and the table at the playground where Candice and I ate burninating chips.
I don’t want to leave my family again. I wish Jake wasn’t so awesome, then I could just leave him and I could stay here and be happy. But no, he had to be the awesomest bucket of super awesome that ever existed, so that I have to leave my family and the place where I know stuff well in order to live a life with him. Bah.
I’ll write when we are back at our apartment. Hope you all have a good time while we are time-travelling.
I am sad that you are leaving again but happy that you won’t have to live out of a suitcase and be squishy. Have a safe trip. Love you heaps!!!
