This marriage is a lava pit of happy times

This was my amazingly delicious, free birthday burger. FREE! Actually, Jake’s burger was the free one, but his was more expensive than mine, so that’s even better. I love Ruby Tuesday.

I meant to write on the weekend, but clearly I didn’t. Gives me things to write about now, so that’s nice.

On Saturday we had to do laundry. I had fun in the laundromat watching the Disney Channel (I think? It was the show with the twins that live in a hotel) because the show had no sound. The only sound from a tv was coming from the other end of the place, and that was a spanish channel. There was also the occasional burst of music from Willy Wonka, but I have no idea where that was coming from. Maybe it was somebody’s ringtone.

At the laundromat, there were rather creepy decorations staring at me.

After we had clean clothes and towels and sheets, we headed off to Ruby Tuesday. I’m still sad that the one at the mall is gone, because that was so convenient. This one… we have to go down the highway 15-17 exits to get the deliciousness of burgers and beverages. I had a turkey burger and a strawberry lemonade (surprisingly…heh) and Jake had a smokehouse burger with a peach somethingorother beverage. Both our beverages had bits of fruit floating around in them. Yummy. For the first time in a very long time, I actually finished my burger. Only just, I was so full when I was done that I couldn’t stand the thought of eating even one fry, and I ALWAYS have room for fries!

On the way home, we were going to check out the Target that we see as we drive along the highway. Unfortunately, we took the wrong turn when we got to the exit, and that path took us directly back to the highway! Ah well, next time. As I said to Jake when I realised which way we were headed, another 5 trips to Burgers and back, and we might make it to Target as well.

Came home, unpacked, and then I almost napped on the kitchen floor. All my energy was going to digestion, and I was full of tryptophan as well, so that made for extra sleepy. I had such a food-baby gut that I looked many months pregnant. Was amusing.

Sunday… Halloween! I wore my adorably awesome witch’s hat as much as I could, but it hurts my head. All hats hurt my head. But other than my eyeball socks, this hat was the only part of my outfit that made it more of a costume, so I needed to wear the hat as much as possible. It was a very cold day yesterday (just as it is today, I am wearing many blankets and my fingers are still so cold they hurt. It is 2pm, it should not be freezing cold!!) so I had my thermals hidden under my witchyness so I could flounce around in my skirt and not freeze.

No trick or treaters came. Not one. We had the light on for hours, we had candy that was getting all cold and eaten (not that the temperature mattered…), I even went out to take pictures of the restaurant’s decorations at the peak of halloween foot traffic so that people might see someone walking up and down the stairs and realise CANDY LIVES HERE! but even that failed. A lady tried to make conversation with me but I didn’t think of words to respond with fast enough and she walked away.

Jake watched THREE football games yesterday. Thankfully he didn’t watch them all teh way through, at one point I wanted to watch something so we watched a movie I had recorded (Jeepers Creepers – Jake hadn’t seen it and I NEEDED him to see how the monster is of Midnight-Meat-Train ridiculousness) and then he went back to football. So much football. He enjoyed watching it though, so that’s good. I spent all day on the computer doing nothing really.

We had brinner. Bacon, eggs, and yummy crispy grated potato. It was the perfect dinner after (during?) a day full of candy consumption.

And now, it is Monday, and November, and that means… my birthday. My age is now my favourite number, so I hope this means good things. Not much being done today, as all the birthday yays were over the weekend. Jake brought me up a surprise turkey reuben (BEST SANDWICH EVER) for breakfast/lunch today. I was going to take a picture but once the sandwich was in front of me, it was very quickly eaten. So good.

I went to the post office, hoping there might be something birthday-related there waiting for me, but there was only a bunch of election carp for Jake. I can’t wait for Wednesday, when all the ads will be over.

My hands are so dry and cold and hurty.

Finally backwards marched to the Sez-day. I told J when it was your actual day that I bet you were going Ruby Tuesday’s. I’m food psychic. I had trick or treaters WALK BY my house, they were out and about but not door-knocking which annoyed me as we managed to get tonnes of candy that is now “door candy” (next to the door to live there FOREVER)
