Boogie’s got me in a SUPER trance

My brother is in the hospital at the moment, has been for a few days and will be for a while longer. Bad reaction to H1N1 + a few days worth of dehydration. He will be totally fine, but yeah. So… here are some awesome things.

I got a purple phone yesterday. I know this is a terrible picture, but it is really hard to try and coordinate all these purple things in one photo while dinner is in the oven right behind you and smelling amazing. I could have included many more purple things, but I thought 4 was enough. I would have just done a basic shot of the phone by itself, but Lisa (my mother in law) DEMANDED I take a picture of my phone with my boots. I think she probably meant me IN the boots, but I couldn’t be bothered.

This is the massive stash of pumpkins that the grocery store we live next to has at the moment. Those people far at the end there, they are looking at the end box of pumpkins. There are 2 more boxes around the corner. It’s nuts. And orange.

I wanted to see if I could make a brownie mix, like you get in packets. So this is flour/cocoa/white sugar/brown sugar. Nice fresh brown sugar, that’s why it is staying like little pucks of awesome. I shook it and got cocoa EVERYWHERE. Although that’s a lie, it was mostly all over my shirt and the floor right at my feet. Somehow my pants didn’t get anything on them. Magic perhaps? Anyway, once this was mixed safely, it looked disturbing, because it did not look like it had a giant wad of brown sugar in it. It looked just like a packet mix. So some time in the next week I’ll make up some brownies and see if the final product is at all affected by this. Mmm, experiments.

Tomorrow marks five years since Jake and I met in person. The month of entries following that one are what the true weirdness of two halves of a brain finally meeting and connecting produces. I love them all. Man, craziness. So to celebrate (well really, that’s just an excuse) we are going to eat lunch at the Split Rail, where we had our first date all those years ago. So convenient that we now live above it.

Woop, pumpkins! I’ve always wanted to buy a big pumpkin like that.

5 years! Congrats! That is some amount of pumpkins…surely the ones at the bottom will end up rotting? Or is there enough demand for them? Good luck with the brownies!

Woo 5 years of brainmates! Did Natey have a bad reaction to the vaccine, or to the flu itself? Cause I think I’m supposed to get the vaccine before I go to Japan…
