Slippers and an oatmeal spoon!

On Friday I we got 3 movies delivered to our PO box, so this weekend has been movie-galore. Which has been awesome. I love Netflix, even when they wipe my list. It restored itself on Friday, which in itself was mildly irritating because I had rebuilt a better list of things to watch. The good thing was, this time I was smart enough to copy the list somewhere so it was a very simple re-add process. Mmm, movies.

So Friday we watched ‘Boondock Saints 2’, which we wanted to see at the cinema last year but it wasn’t playing ANYWHERE. Rather enjoyable movie, Jake adored it but that was pretty much expected. Jake and his brother Nick have the ‘veritas’ and ‘equitas’ that the movie-brothers have (in different places though, and bigger).

Saturday we watched ‘The Invention of Lying’, which again, very enjoyable. I love when we have a freshly-reactivated netflix account, everything we watch is AWESOME. Later on Saturday we watched ‘Law Abiding Citizen’ which was really… (I’m trying to use different words rather than ‘awesome’ and ‘really enjoyable’…)  …good. Gerard Butler is awesome, and it made us both say very loudly OH FUCK!! when a lady got shot by her cell phone.

Today’s movie was ‘Zombieland’. Again, good movie. We ate a bag of tasty bbq chips while watching that, because Jake needed sodium. All morning/early-afternoon we had both been peeing like crazy, and I had been craving salty snacks. Figured out Jake was having a high shunt-fluid-traffic day and therefore needed sodium and therefore we HAD to go get tasty chips. Which I was more than happy to do. Mmm.

Tonight’s dinner was honey mustard chicken with a ‘tangy tater salad’ that was in the same episode of Cooking For Real on the Food Network. We love that show. It really helps that we have tried such tasty recipes from there. But really, how can you go wrong with potatoes and bacon? Jake LOVED the ‘dressing’ or ‘sauce’ or whatever you want to call it. He licked his plate clean and then grabbed my plate and licked that clean. It was adorable. I love when he enjoys stuff we make that much. I liked it, but I have an underdeveloped palate so the dressing/sauce just tasted like slightly sweetened apple cider vinegar to me. Jake could taste the garlic and jalepeno and lemon juice and paprika and bacon as well as the ACV. (The recipe called for white wine vinegar but we both detest the taste of wine so we substituted with half lemon juice and half ACV)

I wonder if I can convince Jake to watch something other than baseball now.

I loved Zombieland, even though I’m not a fan of Woody Harrelson (or however you spell that). :)I love Netflix.

Awesome times. We watched three National Lampoon’s movies, the original National Lampoon’s Vacation, the European Vacation and the Vegas Vacation on the weekend. Fun times and many laughs were had. I can’t wait for Canada to get Netflix! ~jo

is Jakey’s shunt traffic issue all resolved? Looks so yummy

Love netflix!! I am on a PBS kick right now. Any show that has modern day people living in another time period is a winner for me. Loved Zombieland!

ryn: bacon texts. That looks good.

Zombieland was one of those movies that, through previews, I was so sure I would hate, and upon actually watching it, I fell head-over-heels with. The lines are so ridiculously quote-worthy.
