Exploding typhoon of flavour

Good news. On Friday we went to a blood specialist for Jake. They took some blood and are testing it to see what could be causing the low platelets, but his platelets had gone up. He is just in the normal range. So that is nice. We’ll hopefully find out in 2 weeks why they went down at all. Hopefully just a B12 deficiency.

Speaking of B12, it is Jake’s birthday today. We have had a lovely day at home. Last week when we were at Barnes & Noble he picked out a book about the universe, so I gave that to him today. He spent most of the day reading it, I think he is halfway through already. I made him florentines the other day, gave them to him yesterday. Cookies that are mostly almonds! And I spent this afternoon making shepherd’s pie. Tasty beefy meal that my darling Jake-husband chose as his birthday meal. Was pretty tasty. And MAN there is a lot of it. We’ve got enough for at least tomorrow, and that is only the half of the meat/veg mix that we pie-d!

I forgot to take a picture of the foodage though. Which means I have no pictures for this entry. I mean, I do have a picture of me in a dress I bought yesterday, that is rather awesome but way too lowcut for me to be comfortable in. Also, the picture is just… not a good one.

So, back to Friday. Lisa (Jake’s mum) came down to go to the appointment with us. She called at about 11 to let me know she was downstairs and so I went down and had breakfasty/lunch with her and Jake. Of course, I had a turkey reuben, and it was massively delicious. I couldn’t eat it all though. Had to give almost a third of it to Jake because I was going to be sick if I consumed any more. He loves turkey reubens too (like many things, he was the one that got me into the delicious flavour of those sandwiches) but it always makes me sad to part with the tasty.

When we got to the doctor’s place, we had AGES to sit around and wait. Most of that was in the exam room, so we didn’t have any tv to watch. Lots of chatting and laughing and stories and such. And working out potential baby names. That topic came about because one of Lisa’s friend’s daughters recently had a little girl and she was given the middle name I want to give my daughter, if I ever have one.

Ugh, my mouth still tastes like beef. Silly pie. It was rather good, but… and flavour that lingers tends to make me not like it after a while. Like I am now very cautious when I eat dimsims, or garlic bread.

Curse your food-filled entries and their making-me-hungry-ness. I need to not read you at lunchtime…

Yum, I love reubens! I really like the dress you bought! I have these things called “modesty panels” I bought from http://www.lakeside.com and I looove them, perfect for low cut stuff!

I miss dim sims. I tell you what lingers? Chicken Paella chips, I had some last night and it stank the lounge out then this morning J came into the bedroom and I knew he had the rest. I was just watching a cake anime, on it they make awesome fancy looking cakes and the whole time you go “ooh, want”

tbc…HERE! babies were mentioned and I cannot avoid the topic 🙂 We have “named” 6 kids in advance, you know that right? though we have the first female and male set for sure. J has his first-born son tradition and I have the name I wanted since I was in high school set aside the first daughter. Hearing a baby named like your child-to-be is one of those “how’d they know I wanted that?” moments

and I totally thought I norted about the Jake news. Can’t keep track of my own spamming. Happy birthday to the Jake (as I said on FB) and hope you get more good news medical wise *nod* oh and ryn: I had the pokewalker on my pants but I think it is more accurate on the sock, dunno why. I just think it does.

I like how your toes are standing to attention in the photo 🙂

You look lovely in the dress – I always imagined you’d look better in short dresses than long but you proved me wrong! Why not belt it if you feel uncomfortable with it being so low cut? A big stretchy belt would look great! Lee Mee xXx

You looked fantastic in that dress, I mean fantastic. Friday was fun especially when we got the good news. That rocks. My body is still recovering because I get so afraid and tense but now I am relaxed and happy.

Cute dress. Maybe you could get a cami to put under it?

Lovely dress! And I had to laugh at Animalian’s comment. Maybe you just need some double-sided tape so you don’t feel like you can’t move too much. Your left over meat mixture could go into pastry cases to make pie. Or you could freeze it until you want to make another cottage pie (technically a shepherd’s pie is made with lamb). Did Jake like it?

hehehe I couldn’t see a picture of florentines but I did get to see a picture of goat’s cheese and something profiterole. How weird.

I’m definitely with you on the B-12! It’d be nice to be something that “simple”. 🙂

Yay for Jake!! Yes, B-12 deficiency is uncool. Should take supplements, they’re always good for healthy feeling. 🙂 I know I’m late, but happy birthday Jake!! You look WAY CUTE in the dress. I think it suits you. 8D Or..er, dresses you, seeing as it is not a suit. Yes. *hugs!*
