You know you’re all ‘yum-cha’ for pants

Lovely lovely lazy weekend. They all are lovely, and most are lazy, but we have done NOTHING this weekend. Well, Jake went to the store to get milk but by the time he got halfway there they were closing the doors. And halfway there is… still technically our backyard, so yeah. Nothing. So awesome. I realised halfway through Sunday that it would have been AWESOME to move the bed and the tv into the same room and then we wouldn’t have even had to get up. Next time, maybe.

I have been craving rice all day, so for dinner I made a faux-sotto. It was exactly what I wanted. So good. I rock.

This is my jar of delicious musk candies. They all taste the same, it’s justa texture difference. The sticks should be soft, and the little muskettes are sorta powdery in a good way. Yumyum tasty.

I’ve only ever heard of musk in relation to smells so trying to picture a taste for it is hard.

My weekend was pretty good. I planted spinach and broccoli in my garden. And I made muffins that tasted of nothing. And I got to eat lemon tart and chocolate cake. Hmm… why are all my weekend highlights food-related?

Yumm. Are you telling me that the musk sticks are not soft? I bought them just before sending the parcel to you. They should be fresh.

I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted to this weekend, which always seems to be the case.

So the company I work for is Australia-based. I met the CTO the other day and assumed he was from Australia. He could have been from anywhere. He was white/male. He coulda been from South Africa for all I knew. I hadn’t heard him speak. He was the CTO of an Australian company. It was a guess. He says, “All you Americans confusing the English and the Australian” and went off on a tirade.

I thought, “You English. So damn arrogant.” Of course I didn’t say that. But really, he hadn’t spoken to me yet and we both work for an Australian company. He could have been a bit more relaxed ya know? Dang. I told him I guess I didn’t have enough Australian friends, lol. My dad was from England. I think I know the accent difference. He then said I can’t be “half English” and I’m “just American”.

I asked him how that worked for my entire family in England. Was I not related to them? That shut him up. What a total prick. Later he said “I’ll see you tomorrow”. And I said I only work at that store once a wk and another store 4days a wk. He must not have heard the 2nd part b/c he said, “Wow must be nice”. As if I only work 4hrs a wk. I let him know I work 20for that job, 20 in caretaking, and

watch my daughter full time. “Oh.” Goodness. Maybe the guy just needed a nap 😉

The faux-soto looks yummy, what makes it faux? The musk candies are very pink! Fun photo! And my weekend was pretty good. Two dinners with Clay’s family, watched Whip It, which was awesomesauce and lots of lounging. I was hoping for a storm day today because I didn’t want the weekend to be over. We got the shitty weather but not the school closure to go along with it. Poop! ~jo
