Red shows sulphur… except it’s snow

It snowed today. So just like every time when it properly snows, I have taken MANY pictures today. It’s hard not to take pictures of so much pretty and awesome.

It’s also incredibly difficult to pass up the opportunity to sit on a bench covered in this much snow. I should have taken a picture of it once I got up, there was a Sez-shaped hole in the perfect snow!

We made a snowman, it looks so crappy I haven’t yet uploaded a picture of it. Trust me, it is carp. (Oh wait… I did upload a pic!) The snow got too powdery by the time we went outside. We also made snow angels. Barb, Lisa Cassidy, and another lady came by. Purely to make snow angels. They just timed themselves well that we happened to be out there too. So 5 snow angels happened. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a good picture of them. Maybe tomorrow morning. They left as soon as they were done, they had other locations to angel up.

I did get a good shot of me kicking snow though. I love it. Reminds me of the time I chased ducks and took pictures of that at the same time.

I love my Jake, he’s so awesome. He came out and played in the snow with me. Fetched me giant blobs of snow while I was sitting on the ground making the snowman. Took pictures of me posing like a weirdo. Waited while I ran inside to swap cameras (my pink one stopped wanting to flash for some stupid reason…) He stayed outside in the snow with me for an hour. Love him. He also let me take pictures of him posing in places. Most of them did not work.

We also cleaned off the car, so I could move it when the plow-man came. Unfortunately I didn’t think to try opening the door. Which couldn’t be done, need something to hack the ice out from between the door and the car. Or wait until it melts a tad. Would have been nice to know before we got dressed and went outside again and then had to run inside looking like idiots.

My thighs were almost icy to the touch for hours after we came in. That’s what I get for sitting and laying in the snow a lot. But man, it’s worth it. I’ve only been that cold…. 3 times now. That I remember. First time – when I came to visit Jake and we walked to the store (the one we now live next to!) and it POURED rain on the way back and I was wearing just a thin long sleeve shirt. When we got home I had to strip and wrap myself up in the doona and have Jake hand-feed me the sushi we went to buy coz I couldn’t bring myself to take my arms out of the blankety warmth. That’s a nice memory.

The other time was when Natey, Claire and I walked home from the Split one day when they were visiting. It had just snowed the night before so we went and made snowmen in the town …. uhh… near the gazebo. I forget what that area is called. But yeah. Again, I sat in the snow for ages, not caring that I was getting cold. That’s my child-side coming through there. It’s fun, who cares. (I just went and read that entry linked at the start of this paragraph. All was well and good until I realised… I’m wearing the exact same outfit that I was tonight! Heh)

Also… I love those red stairs. They are inside, but they are outside of our apartment area… kinda. So I can come inside to the warmth and get rid of snowy layers and not track snow into the house. Woo! Ooh, and you can see how high the snow was. Not all the way up my legs like the snow is there… half of that is from my kicking. I still got good and foot-buried though. Love it.

Are there enough pictures of me in this entry?

I love it when it snows!

Woo! Snow!

Last year in WA we got 2 feet of snow which is pretty unheard of. We were snowbound in our house for a good week. This year? No snow at all. In fact, it’s supposed to be sunny and 60 this week. Weird. I’m jealous of your snow! It would be nice to have a day or two of it ’round here. 🙂

Wow, your neighborhood is gorgeous! *looks at snowman* *laughs* Oh my god, it’s the Grim Reaper! You can even see the darkness where his hood shrouds his face! The red is symbolic of the blood of innocents that he’s snatched from the mortal realm! *dies some more* Awesome entry! I love pictures. I love snow pictures. I love pictures of people having fun in the snow. Win! 🙂 ~Shady

The top picture looks so pretty. You really do live in a beautiful part of the world. I love how deep the snow is, and I love the idea of Barb, Lisa C and another woman going around the place making snow angels. Talk about the child-side in people…. hehehe it was good to see Stu again.
