You are NOT my Sega Genesis

I am EXHAUSTED. And so, so glad to have gotten rid of most of the baked goods. I was making cookies this morning (I made the dough yesterday so today was just rolling/cutting/cooking) and I felt so sick just at the thought of all these sweet treats. I made Jake his name in gingerbread though, which he got to eat while hot (he missed out last time I made them, and really… what’s the fun of being married to a baker if you don’t get to enjoy the baked goods while still hot and amazing?)

I woke up this morning to SNOW! It has been snowing ALL DAY! Which is absolutely fabulously amazing, because today we did our family Christmas, so it was a lovely white christmas. And I got to drive in the snow for the first time. Not so fun, although I did like the massive amounts of compliments I got from Jake (and then Lisa once Jake told her) about how good my instincts are. Not that hard – go slow, leave good gaps between other cars.

We were meeting up with Lisa in a parking lot about halfway to Nick and Stacy’s place. This way she could drive, as I didn’t want to park on the hill or drive in the snow on a scary hill. We got to the parking lot to wait for her and sat there for… probably at least 20 minutes. I got bored and started taking pictures of things, and then once it got cool I put the car back on. As soon as the car was back on, bam she showed up!

Christmas was sooo lovely. Presents were first and then eats. Eats was so lovely, there was spaghetti and chicken parm (mmm) and that’s all I had but it was good food. And for dessert there was my basket of treats, and a peppermint bundt cake. And hot cocoa. I stole all the bits of candy cane off the top of my cake and put them in the cocoa. Yums. I burned my tongue rather well on the cocoa, because I’m incredible like that. I don’t know how to wait until my food is cool enough to eat. If I have pizza, or soup, or a hot drink… I WILL burn my tongue on those. Pretty much every time. It’s guaranteed. It’s part of what makes me Sez.

As for the massive pile of presents: from Matt and Lisa I got Nip/Tuck season 5, some reindeer socks, DINOSAUR MUFFIN PAN, and the stocking contained the regular things (candy – sweet tarts. gift card – chili’s! underwear – amusing green underwear and some thongs. Thong underwear from my mother in law… that still kinda weirds me out, even after 4 christmases). From Kristen I got some amazingly soft awesome feeling socks with little grip things on the bottom, and a pretty cool cook book. I think we also got a cinnamon muffin kit thing from her. (Everything came at us at once, is kind of hard to remember where it came from!) From Nick and Stacy we got  a cute hot cocoa kit with adorably pretty cups and saucers, a Nestle cookbook, and a silicone muffin pan. So basically it was socks, candy, baking things. People know us pretty well. 🙂

You have no idea how much I wanted that dinosaur muffin pan. Now I can make so many dinosaur muffin things. And then eat them and laugh evilly about how I am making them extinct. Ah, it shall be brilliant.

I absolutely LOVE the way Stacy decorated. Look! There were presents on the wall!!!! So awesome. (Also what you can’t tell because my camera flash makes things orangey… the shirt under my black hoodie is red, just like Jake’s. We were unintentionally matching! But then we often do that)

I am so exhausted right now. Sleep would be so lovely. But it’s still pretty early.
