Add to the heavenly delicious nectar of joy
This apartment smells like lamb. And tandoori. It’s so lovely. But that’s not this picture, that’s the next one. This is what greeted us when we got up this morning. Which is weird, except not because I put the socks on the tomato cans before bed last night. The elastic was MASSIVELY leg-murdery yesterday. Today, not so bad. Still tight but not so tight I thought my lower legs would be squeezed off. Made me laugh to see this on the kitchen counter though, because for a second I forgot that I did it and was amused at Santa’s oddness.
Jake and I have had a lovely day, being lazy and cute. He got a new memory book (necessity, but fun to have something extra to wrap) and Transformers 2 on DVD. I got a pile of clothes. Score. So this afternoon Jake watched his movie and I attempted to read my new book. I hate reading sitting up though, so I only got through a few pages before my back and neck were in pain from looking down. Tis good so far though. Yay for that.
For christmas dinner, all I wanted was "something we don’t have just any day" and we got it. Jake had lamb, I had tandoori turkey breasts (Jake had some of that too), some lovely steamed broccoli (that was AMAZING to wash down the flavour of the turkey with) and mashed potatoes. With our stash of purple potatoes, of course. I love those things, they are amazing. So yes, we rarely do 2 meats, never really do side dishes, mash is a rare thing for us… and to bring it all to the table on a serving plate? Completely unheard of! So I got what I wanted. And oh my, was it tasty. Really made the day feel like something special rather than just a regular day off.
The other thing that made the day feel nice is the pile (ok… 3) of text messages from aussies that I love wishing me a merry christmas.
Now it’s time for me to make dessert. Apple crumble. It’s going to be SO VERY GOOD. I’ll add a picture to this once it is all cooked and yummy (although the title won’t show that this has been edited, because it is at full character limit!)
Oh, talk about a most tasty dessert!
Hope you have all had a truly lovely day.
Looks great!!

LOL I love the first pic and your description of it! I got a pair of socks for Christmas that have fur around the top and it’s uncomfortably tight, maybe I’ll do this too!
