Pie Tornado

I am: Full, happy, tired, energised, sore, gassy, tired, full, and just those things on repeat.

Pie bird being surrounded by apples. AKA pie bird lost it’s pie virginity!!

I got up early this morning, not on purpose, I just happened to wake up at 8. I think this week has reset my waking schedule if that happens naturally. Especially on a Sunday! Formed the stuffing loaves (I HATE ONIONS… ugh, even though all I did was take off the outer layer and chop in quarters… 2 onions… and then processed till tiny… I had to run away and wash my eyes out 4 times because I COULD NOT OPEN THEM…stupid onions) and would’ve made the cranberry sauce but I didn’t know the recipe. Because I made the pies yesterday, I didn’t really have much to do today. Other than dishes. So many dishes. But I kept up with them all day so the kitchen wasn’t a gross mess the whole time WOO!!

Lisa did the turkey and the ham and Jake did the potatoes… oooh and we also had hard boiled eggs. Oh… yum yum. That was another of my tasks, de-shelling the eggs. Jake and Lisa tried but didn’t have the patience for it. I loved it, things like that are fun for me.

I didn’t get many pictures of food, because my camera (that I bought for it’s ability to do video with sound) takes shitty pictures when it needs to use flash. I’ll have to remember that. Good thing I have another camera. Mmm… multiple.

I took many versions of this… Jake refused to not look at me. (my face really shows how stressful my week has been)

Results of food:
Turkey that  has been brined = AWESOME
Stuffing loaf = OH SO DELICIOUSLY GOOD. I ate a lot of that by itself. Mmm.
Ham and pineapple = Always a winning combination (unfortunately I only had room for 2 bites!)
Sez-made sweet potato pie = Very tasty.
Sez-made apple pie = SO GOOD! I don’t normally like apple pie, but this was… oh. So very very tasty.
(I will post recipes… eventually)

Umm… there are more pictures here. Not many, but too many for me to add into an entry. At least tonight, with my energy shot wearing off and bed being tempting (I cheated for energy today…)

My favourite part of today, other than the food, is that it was expected of me to be dealing with the food/putting it all away/doing the dishes afterwards… and therefore I didn’t have to be social!! Oh, that made me so happy. I was social a bit, but for the most part I was busy with other stuff. And so it was the most comfortable thanksgiving I have ever experienced.

YAY HAPPY THANKSGIVING! RYN: Thanks, I feel pretty 🙂

Do you keep your onions in the fridge? Coz apparently that make them less fumey

Ok, so I’m like 12 years-old because I’m dying laughing at the pie bird losing it’s virginity. Ahahaha! ~jo

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving. Congratulations!!

I’ve only tried brining anything once. It turned out terribly and we called it “voodoo pork” after a sketch about insanely salty pork on Kids in the Hall. Maybe I let it sit in the brine too long.

RYN: A very valid point. Mine were just little pork chops.

I LOVE that picture of you two! Lee Mee xXx

RYN: Yes, I thought of you when I wrote that bit too. I think of you whenever I hear an MJ tune. LOVE the photo of you and Jake! 🙂
