Happy 4th

Today has been rather lovely. I got to sleep in a bit, and then Jake and I played with sugar. And I had royal icing for breakfast. Quite a lot of it actually. I don’t like wasting it because it is so delicious, and then I feel sick from eating so much but I don’t stop. I had to get Jake to cover the bowls with other dirty dishes and some water so I would stop eating it all. mmm.

My red had a drop of black in it so that’s why it is pretty much brown. I did the red ones, Jake did the blue ones. I love the way he ‘frosts’ cookies, it’s very childlike and adorable. Everyone who had one and knew I made them told me how delicious they were, and that is was such a cute idea. That made me very happy.

We went to Russ’s at about 2. We’d never been there before, but after 2 brief missings of turns we got there and all was good. Today has been lovely and sunny but there was also a breeze. We were under the little ‘tent’ area so there was no sunlight so it was a bit chilly, but that just means I am enjoying the warmth of our apartment right now. So delicious.

We spent most of the time sitting at a table with 2 older ladies. I only know the name of one of them, she was Evelyn and she was lovely. Very friendly and kept saying how sweet and kind and such Jake was and that we are obviously doing something right with our love and all that. At one point the topic of Michael Jackson came up and even then she only had good words to say and that just made me really happy.

Oh, there was carrot cake for dessert! Well, one of the many desserts. Mmm… so good. I love carrot cake. I had that and cookies. mmm…. me. We left soon after. I really wish I had taken my camera, it was such a lovely bit of land. So many big trees and lots of grassy areas and there was a little lake or pond or whatever and it was just… nice. Calm and all that.

Think I might curl up somewhere and read some words about something. I’m sick of seats.
