I smell like a culinary adventure!

Today, we roasted many things. Garlic, red peppers, eggplant. We have used our food processor 3 times in the last 24 hours, which is a LOT more use than it has had in a very long time. We made two very delicious dips – a roasted garlic and red pepper one, and a white bean and roasted eggplant one, both of which I have posted the recipes for. Much fun in the kitchen with my husband.

So much delicious goodness.

We made the dips because Jake eats a lot when he is home, and we were under the impression he had next week off. Unfortunately, he does not. He has wednesday to friday of the following week off, but it’s still pouty-making. Mildly. I was rather looking forward to having him by my side for a whole week.

I found some pictures Matt had sent me months ago. Except I got them in Australia when I was on Natey’s computer that hated photobucket, so they went hidden.

Jake and I at the double-birthday-and-thanksgiving extravaganza that was in early November.

Jake’s brother Nick and I blowing out our birthday numbers on a pumpkin pie. I don’t think I am actually poking the candle, I’m just weird. But who knows. (look at that ugly cake in the bottom corner – that thing was yummy. Speaking of cake, what kind (flavour) should I make Jake for his birthday (in 2 months)? I want to work it out now so he will forget about it. Any ideas are good. He just keeps asking what I have experience making, and that doesn’t matter. So yes, ideas?)

aww that sucks that he doesn’t have the whole week off, and it’s the week after the week you originally thought. nothing worse than being disappointed 🙁 that photo of you and jake is a really good pic, and uber cute 🙂

I personally think you are holding the candle up so it didn’t wax in your pie or some such. J was supposed to get a day last week off but didn’t…luckily he still gets three days off this week. But bum, it would of been like a my-husband-is-home too kind of brag-worthiness

Sounds completely yum, although it took me ages to figure out which one was eggplant, I know it as aubergine 🙂 But yes, YUMMYNESS. xxx

That’s a lovely photo of you and Jake. I’m sorry he doesn’t have the week off after all. He wrote some time back about the diner being closed for a week. What happened to that?

I made a triple layer chocolate cake with pudding in the mix & has a cream cheese cool whip mixture for icing, with shaved chocolate on top! It’s yuuummy. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Yum, you are quite the chef huh!!!
