Scan those fingers!

We left at 9:30 today. I got up at 8, so there was plenty of time to laze around, chat to Ellen, read favourites and all that before getting ready to go. I didn’t like how ‘early’ we had to be out and about, I don’t normally get up until 9 and I took ages to get to sleep last night, so I was very tired. If coffee worked for me I would’ve had some, I was having so much trouble focusing the entire drive. And then I would realise I wasn’t focusing properly and snap to it because I’d get scared something would happen. Driving while tired is no fun. We got to the ASC place by 10:30, and it was awesome because they had a carpark and everything. Their previous location really sucked in comparison. Lots of space and room to breathe.

Walked in, got a form to fill out, got a number (35, when the number on the screen they were now seeing was 34, sweet!) sat for 10 seconds, got up and got all my fingers tugged and rolled over a scanner thing (my prints kept getting things like "match warning" and such next to it… wonder what that means. Happened last time too), signed on the computer, got my picture taken by a webcam, and left. Well before my "appointment time" of 11am.

After that all was good because the difficult part was over. Actually, the difficult part was just the getting there, I’m not fond of unknown places, once we were parked all was awesome. We headed back the way we came, but I was silly and went on 84 east instead of 84 west so we went to Manchester. Which I think I have been to before, years ago with Kristen. I may be wrong. 5 minute detour, woo!

Next stop was CostCo, where we stocked up on cereal. And swiffer cloths. I need to dust around here. Then we went and got a massive load of groceries which is always a good thing to have.

Once home and unpacked and all that fun, we wnt downstairs for our first meals of the day (at 1:30…) I had a turkey reuben and some OJ. Very good combination. Amazingly good reuben. Because Jake wasn’t working, Russ had come in. So I got a russ-ben! Best ones, they really are. Plus I hadn’t had one in 2 months, so it was extra good.

Jake went back to work then (even though he had the day off, he wanted to work the afternoon part. I love how he loves his job) so I came upstairs and lazed around. Went to the post office to mail off a birthday card, but of course I forgot to bring money with me so I couldn’t buy the stamp needed. Lousy non-standard stamps.

We had chilli mash for dinner tonight. Jake made very awesome delicious mashed pototoes, and we mixed in the chilli that Lisa C. had given us a few days ago. There wasn’t much chilli (deceptive container!) so even though it had 7 different kinds of chillis including habanero in it, it had no obvious spice to it once mixed in. Was tasty though. Incredibly filling.

I loved spending (almost) all day with my husband. It really made it awesome.
