With a dry, hoppy finish

On Jake’s break today, we walked over to the elementary school so he could vote. Well, first we drove to the senior centre, and then to the elementary school, but it was so close and so packed that we drove home and walked. So Zebu got some exercise as well as us.

While he voted (I cannot type that word properly! It keeps coming out as vite) I stood near the exit, and near a puppy. Watching people pat the pup and ignore it’s owner until about halfway through the pat amused me. I don’t know why.

I ate too many crunchies today, and now my tongue is raw and sore from the honeycomb. I like to eat my candy bars (especially crunchies) by dissolving each bite pretty much. Which is why I can’t eat nerds, they always result in tongue-pain.

For dinner we made ‘thai style garlic chicken’ that didn’t taste garlicy at all, tasted like lemon chicken. And now I want to make lemon chicken with that yummy lemon sauce. Mmm. But yeah, it was just lemon, garlic, brown sugar and black pepper as marinade. And then we threw some yellow squash in there because it was lacking in vegetation. Very yumm.

Jake is being very excited for having voted and for the result of this. He keeps saying "I voted!!" and it is adorable.

I just want the result already. 🙂

Oh I want lemon chicken. And fried rice. Or beef and black bean. Mmm… have to wait 4 weeks. I can do that. Right?
