The Hedges * An Adirondack Lodge *pics*

Dear Diary,

Hopefully you’re in the mood for a picture share…

These are from last weekend.  We had our annual weekend at the lake lodge in the Adirondacks.

The cousins…. they SO look forward to this time together each year!  It is a four day weekend for us and really the longest chunk of time the get together each year.

My FIL, SIL and Sandy visiting in the rockers on the front porch of the house we stay in at the lodge…

One of the other cabins available to rent at the lodge….

The kids like to bring their Nerf swords for a pit of play.  The Daddys join them for a big camp wide sword fight during the weekend, too….

We took a walk as a family shortly after arriving.  The kids stuck their toes in at the beach and quickly decided they needed to change into their swimsuits….

It would have been nice if I decided to buy the new camera before this weekend.  This would have been a good place to break it in….

I like the shot above and this next one below…

drying off…

There was a canoe race on the lake that day….

Planes often fly on and off the lake.  My timing was a bit off for the pic….  another reason that the new DSLR will be nice!

The kids!

And then the adults…. (,inus me who is behind the camera)

A little dinghy boat crush!  (Can’t wait to get to Venice where I completely overload on boat crushes!  Gondola boat crush here I come!)

Cute of Reagan and Kelty….

A nice shot of Grandpa, Kelty and Reagan before dinner on our first day…

One of the rooms in the house.

I had picked up some Bear Naked Ale which is labeled as an Adirondack Ale to share… Keith enjoyed one before dinner….

Tina had some wine….

The little office and store…

Each night after dinner we take a walk out to the main sign….

Sandy and Grandpa…

Keith’s brother’s family….

Our family (minus Woody who was at Camp Grandma Debbie (Keith’s mom’s) for the weekend)

After our evening walk we would spend some time in the game room…

Sandy built some with the Lincoln Logs in the game room…

The next morning for breakfast Reagan had "Little Bear Pancakes"!

The fireplace in the Dinning Hall…

Another walk after breakfast…

There are big rocks all over camp that the kids love to climb on.  It makes me a bit nervous but luckily we’ve had no accidents…

There are a ton of really great natural planters all over the camp.  Love them!

This is the living area in the house we stay in….

I spent quite a bit of time over the weekend working on this puzzle….

There is a dinning area to the side of the living room.  There’s a second dinning area along side the kitchen…  We ate breakfast and dinner at the Lodge Dinning Hall.  We had sandwiches and sides for lunch at the house.  Keith’s brother has a new road bike that he brought along (pictured).  And that is Sandy’s stack of reading material….

The kids play lots of tic-tac-toe…..

There is a shelf in the house full of books, games, puzzles, etc…

The row of rockers on the front porch….

An outside shot of the house…

And from a bit further back…. I love the Children Playing -8 MPH sign…

Keith and his dad in the background….

Sweet Cousins…

Sandy and Tina after a bit of shopping…

This is a cute corner of the main lodge near the boat dock….

We let Reagan head out in a canoe with Molly and Kelty….

Grandpa and Sandy….

Tina in a kayak…

It was around this time that I notice that the metal shaving was within the lens view area… you can see the blur right above the kids canoe…

I cropped the blur out in this next one… it was up in the top left corner.

Just hanging out on a rock in the middle of the lake while the kids swim….

See the blur right above Kelty’s (in the front) head… So frustrating.  Hence the new camera….

Snuggling with daddy after getting chilled from swimming…

Heading back to the lodge…

The boat house…

Mike and Tina coming back in..

And the kids….

The seating area in the main lodge….

A little office area….

Isn’t this boat planter adorable!!?!

Tic-Tac-Toe!

The gift shop has a lot of fun plush to choose from.  Reagan picked a chubby turtle from the gift shop and then won a nice bear at Bingo….

Here is the turtle he picked…

Another row of rockers on the front side of the house…

Grandpa, Molly and Reagan were hanging out and chatting…

A family pic using the timer on our last morning ….  (the new camera has a timer, too.  That feature comes in handy!

There were low clouds over the lake on that last morning that were really pretty…

I attempted a panoramic…

And one last family pic out on the swim dock….

There are a lof of furry friends in the game room that the kids had to say goodbye to…..

That’s all the lodge pics! You get a gold star if you made it through all of that!

Reagan starts fall soccer after school today.  I’m looking forward to playing a bit with my camera during his practice.  This evening is the first official boyscout meeting of the school year.  I’m sending Keith and Reagan.  I have an artist trading card club meeting this evening, too that I’m looking forward to.  We’re trading school cards tonight.  Maybe I’ll play with photographing those to share, too.

School today and tomorrow and then we head for the shore!  It will be a short weekend.  We’re so use to the four day and then just recently we had the 3 day Labor day weekend.  This will be a 2 day but beach season is coming to an end so I’ll take whatever I can get.

I guess that’s it for now.  I want to share the 1st grade pics soon, too.

I was up over Labor Day weekend and the humidity was crazy—amazing the difference a week makes. I have been enjoying seeing different pics of the 90 miler. I “liked” the Long Lake FB page—they showed the 5 person canoe as well!

Such a lovely place to have a family getaway! Keith’s parents must get so much joy from having you all together for a few days. Looking forward to your discoveries with your new camera!

ryn: Been to Disney a few times this yr…either to the parks, downtown Disney, or Typhoon Lagoon. Downtown Disney really starting to expand though, and parking is crazy. I think I read it will be Disney Springs in a few yrs. The pics look real nice and relaxing.

The girls and Reagan are getting so big. I’ve been reading you so long I remember when the twins were just we ones.

The kids are all getting so big. Time really flies.

What a gorgeous place to call home once a year! I remember last year’s pictures too! The kids are all getting so big! The girls are all legs! Thanks for the fun adventure! 🙂

RYN: Not at the gym. It’s across the street! I do childcare for any kids of gym parents that come in. Off the street kids, the parents have to stay with them. We’re not a daycare. No diapers are changed. 🙂

I love all these pictures! It’s so nice that you have this annual trip with the family. You can probably see those kids growing up before your eyes through this trip alone!
