Summer Picture Catch Up
Dear Diary,
Summer has been on fast forward! I’ve been busy at the office and when home I’m spending all my spare time with my mom while she’s visiting. I just haven’t made time for Open Diary.
This afternoon as I finish my day at the office I’ll leave for the shore. My mom and Reagan left this morning. We’ll have five days at the shore and pool and then she will have to head back home to TN. We’ve had a nice visit and I know I’ll miss her.
She returned from a cruse to Alaska a few weeks ago and has been working on getting that trip scrapbooked. I’ve been doing some card making in between scrapbooking.
I recently pulled some pics off the camera to share. This first one is of Reagan and friends taking a break from swimming and playing a bit of Minecraft on my phone.
At the shore….
Our spot!
Reagan playing dinosaurs in the sand…
It’s common to see dolphins swimming along the shoreline…
We went to see Monster’s University after the beach…
In front of the new camper….
Keeping cool in the pool!
Another day at the beach! This cart is how I’m able to lug all our stuff back and forth on my own…
Reagan and I….
Writing and drawing in his journal…
Lifeguards heading out for drills….
We made a sea serpent!
Reagan with the sea serpent….
Sandcrab!
There is a tent set up at the camper that can be used as a playroom. Reagan enjoyed it last year but hasn’t used it much this year yet.
Two weeks ago when we were at the shore my mom and I did some beading….
Reagan playing Legos in the camper…
Reagan has played with this little boy each summer at the shore since he was 1 or 2. This was the first time we saw him this year. They remembered each other though and were fastfriends again…
I dug a swimming hole and then took a picture of my Mom and Reagan in it…
This day I made a shark…
We made an aligator, too…
The shark tried to eat Reagan….
I used the camera timer to get a picture of all three of us together another day….
We made a sand crab, too!
Reagan made canyon with caves for his dinosaurs…
Back home from the shore again…. soccer night….
My Mom and Keith at soccer….
We’ll spend our days at the beach and pool over the next five days. In the evenings I have some card making projects planned for us. Should be a relaxing time.
Do you remember back before Reagan turned 2 when I ended up helping a friend out by watching her little boy (Milo) for 6 months while she returned to work as an Art Teacher? Just recently we had an Upper School Art Teacher opening at our school. I told her about it and she decided to apply. They ended up making her an offer and she accepted this week. SO, she will begin teaching here in the fall. Milo will be starting Kindergarten here. She has three boys total now. One is old enough for preschool here. The third will have to attend a program elsewhere for 1 year and then he can come here, too. I’m really excited for all of them. It has been such a nice school for Reagan and I to work / attend and I think they will feel the same about it.
I guess that’s it for today.
Happy Thursday!
I was thinking of you and Reagan the other day! Glad to see that your summer is full of fun! I love your mom’s dress in that last photo. Great news about your friend. I still hope to teach or have a teacher’s schedule so I can spend some of the summers with my son.

I love the sand animals. I’ve never been to the beach–I wouldn’t go in the water, but I’d love to play in the sand!
