Paper Crafts *pics*

Dear Diary,

Last night and this morning I made progress in a few areas on my at home "to do" list.  I made good camping packing progress.  I also wrapped up some paper crafting projects I’m working on.  I did some tidying but home to tackle more in my free time leading up to leaving on Saturday.

I invited my neighbor and her little boy to go camping with us.  They seem pretty interested and will decide for sure by this evening.  It makes me a little nervous because I get Reagan and I prepared enough that we do these types of things relatively smoothly.  I know that not all do.  I also go in with a positive attitude that I expect from Reagan, too Because of this we always have a good time when we’re on adventures.  I also know that not everyone operates that way.  We will go with the flow though.  I know she’s had the goal of taking her little guy camping and I told her we’d keep her informed of when we are going.  Not everyone just makes the decision to go and makes it happen quite like we do.  She’s really great so I’m not overly concerned but adding others into the mix does take away from the simplicity of it.  I’ll just do my best to go with the flow.

I wanted to share the little camping album I made from our trip just under two weeks ago.  The base for the album is by Bo Bunny.  It’s their Camp-a-Lot line and they call this style an Edgy Album.  I purchased three of the Camp-a-Lot edgy albums to have enough pages for all of our pics.

I think the specs said that on average the pages are 7 " tall and 10" wide….  ( I thought the little travel trailer was adorable!)

The state park sign and then Reagan beginning to set up the tent….

More tent set up….

Getting ready to go fishing….

Playing with the fishing worms and then waiting patiently for fish to bite….

Catching fish!

Fish 2 and Fish 3…

The play tent!

Building and enjoying the campfire…

S’mores!

Family pic and more S’mores….

Family games!

hiking and playing soccer….

Our site and enjoying a sandwich…

Skipping rocks and going for a bike ride…

Reagan and Daddy….

Fish 4 and Fish 5…  And snuggled up in the tent…

The End….

This morning I went out and cut some peonies off of our bushes and brought a vase full into my office…

This was Reagan yesterday morning.  It was a dressdown day plus wear your favorite hat day!    This shirt and short set is one of the recent Crazy 8 purchases ($4.99 ea.) I mentioned.  I like how the creatures look like little boy drawings….

Here are the ATC (Artist Trading Cards) I made with a bird theme for June.  They are a 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 chip board backed card that you can pretty much do any creative thing you want with on the front.  And then you trade them with others.  I’m in a group of 8 so in June with we trade I’ll keep one of the cards I made and then end up with a variety of 7 others with a bird theme.  I guess some collect these.  I plan to incorporate them on scrapbook pages or on cards though.  I made one extra so I can give one to my mom.  I think she would enjoy this type of creative project.  I may still add something more to these.  I was thinking a few honeycomb shapes inside the embossed areas done in a few different printed papers.  And maybe wording…. maybe not.  I really like this new embossing folder that is in the background!

A closer look….

I completed 15 cards last night, too.  I used the same embossing folder again.  Reagan helped with the embossing and sanding.  That morning he had asked to scrapbook with me which was sweet of him…

A little closer… you can see how it is embossed then sanded and inked…..

On the front of this entire series of cards it says "a little birdie told me…."  and then inside they say "it’s your birthday"

The backs of this group….

Another group of 5….

One more…. (yesterday on my lunch I did a quick grocery shop for camping and then I sat in the car and cut these little blue birds out while I listened to my book)

There were 35 other cards that I worked on the end of last beach season.  I’m not sure if I ever shared pics of them.  They go with this group though….  All 50 envelopes have the birthday bird on them…..  Here are 20 from the set…..

Tonight is the Memorial Day parade in our little town.  I’m excited for Reagan to get to participate in another Scout event as they walk in the parade.  After the parade they will be part of a Memorial ceremony at a local cemetery.  That should help him learn a bit more about the signifigance of the holiday.

I am making cupcakes this evening, too for the 4th Kindergarten teacher.

Busy, busy!

Happy Thursday!

Ryn: it’s a Tim Holtz. It comes with a brick wall folder as well. Darice has one as well, but I like Tim’s better! 🙂

oh the little camper scrapbook is adorable 🙂 that would be nice if your neighbors came camping with you, but i can see not wanting them to hinder your expierence though.

I’d have asked, then immediately regretted doing so. I can’t imagine bringing any components in that would possibly jeopardize a nice smooth weekend. 🙂

I loved Crazy 8. Colin has already outgrown them though. 🙁

I always have to force myself to ask others in on one of “our” events. I find as the kids grow older, they want more and more playmates around. Have a wonderful weekend camping and happy scrapbooking!

Love your camper book. Very cute! My kids wear a lot of Crazy8. In fact I have an order up right now. 15 items for $77…..just looking for a 20% off coupon I know I have around here somewhere.

The trading cards have turned out so well! I’m interested to see what the other folks have created. Ashley
