HOPE

Dear Diary,

Keith is at an interview today at an Engineering firm in a city not too far from here.  I have everything crossed that something comes of it!  For those of you keeping track he’s had about 3 1/2 years of under employment now…..crazy!  He’s been back with his original employer in this area but business is still slow.  He is maybe billing half-time and they are a month or two behind on actually paying him for the time he has worked.  I have no idea how he has kept his chin up.  The goal is to have him fully employed someplace stable.  I’d also like to see him back on his own benefits, etc.  The market is still rough but I’m hoping!

I’m also hoping for good news on a summer program for Reagan.  There is a day camp at our local rec center that I want him in.  I contacted them in April and found out that they filled up for this summer at the end of last summer. Eeek!  The program announcement for this year wasn’t even officially released at that point.  I figured I was ahead of things.  So he was waitlisted.  I followed up yesterday and she said "it was looking good".  She needed to wait to hear back from a couple families and she’d let me know today.  Again….. *crossing fingers*.   

My other tentative plan for Reagan this summer is a "no go".  I did check with who watched him last summer.  She was our tenant then and they were all able to remain home.  She has had a second baby so I knew she might be overwhelmed with the new addition and that seems to be the case.  We have had a couple of chances to visit with them recently.  They’re a sweet family and I like the home they bought when they moved out of our apartment. 

Anyway…..  let’s hope Keith’s interview goes well and things fall into place for Reagan this summer, too!
