I love how Maho’bachan (Aunt Witch) will never assert a statement after she makes it, she just leaves it as open questioning, following it with something like ‘Who knows’ or ‘Probably’ (tabun). It’s like someone who is highly skilled in the subtleties of conversational skills. She doesn’t want to make accusations or assert opinions, she wants you to have a think about the possibility of there being more than what you can see.
