I take my showers at night with the lights off

Enter the bathroom.
Turn, close and lock the door.
Light off.
Turn to face the room.
For a moment everything is black except for the window which glows with ambient light.
Then slowly my eyes adjust, and the room defines in shape and shadow.
Naked, I enter the shower.
There is enough light from the window to cast soft shadows of my body against the tiled wall.
As I pace out the movements of this ritual of cleaning, I look at the room.
Beautiful in this monochrome dimness.
I wish I could stay in this enchanted space forever.

You are a lot braver than me, son… I’d be walking into stuff and tripping over my daughter’s potty chair and falling into the toilet. Yep, I’m blind as a bat even with the lights on, for goodness sakes:) Thank God for modern technology… and by modern technology I mean glasses…

That sounds so relaxing! I might have to give it a try when I live in a place that has a window in the bathroom. Be well. (Thank you for your notes).

I used to love taking showers by nothing more than moonlight… Tranquil…Beautiful.. Moonlight seems to shine and adorn whatever it falls on moreso than daylight and flourescen…

Romanticized shower scenes. As memorable as Psycho’s shower scene!
