The Science of Sleep | drums

What a wonderful, wonderful film. Chibi-R and I watched Michel Gondry’s first writing and directing venture last night and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. I gave it 9, and that’s on the A list too, not the B list fun/action/generic movie type. The A list is where Tokyo.Sora and Solaris live. Yes, it’s that good. You should watch it.

Driving home I listened to The Cardigans, and a thought came to me – Nina Persson, Nina Miranda… what is it with great vocalists having that name? So now I’m left in a quandary.
Who do I marry?
Chibi-R did show me the first episode of Big Love, so perhaps polygamy is the way, albeit without the religious bullshit. Or maybe we can all just be in an open relationship. I’m sure with Maltesers, anything’s achievable.

Tomorrow if all goes well, I’m buying a second-hand Roland V-Drums kit, two mesh-head pads, one 10″ (new snare) and one 8″ (old snare, now the floor tom), hat, ride and two cymbals, and two normal pads for high toms. The module is the TD-6V which is serviceable. The dream is of-course to get the TD-20 one of these days, but that will be several grand later, and I have to start somewhere, considering I haven’t played drums seriously for seven years or so.
