Swing season 2007! Lesson 1 | Werribee
(Wednesday nights at Werribee Kindergarden Community Room)
First Swing lesson of the year! Mostly revision, but a new move for all of us regulars. We did sort of breeze through 6-beat basics, the send-out and the leftie (under-arm) position change, then we did this cool thing which I forgot the name of… again… as I generally do.
*edit* – I’ve just learned from Lauren that they’re called Barrel Rolls. Nice one Lauren.
From open position, the lead draws the follow’s right hand to his left hip, then we kind of turn our right shoulders out and away from each-other, lead’s left hand coming up over his head and around… that makes sense to me of-course because I did it, and these notes are after-all for my own reminders, so unless you’ve done it before, don’t expect it to make much sense.
I’ve missed dancing through the summer, but thankfully it was much cooler tonight than it has been in December before break-up. Once again I’m reminded that Swing may very well be the best thing in the world…
along with wine…
music…
film…
anime…
literature…
hang-on a sec…
aaaaah, now the sticker is explained! lol. Far too energetic for me. I’ll stick to my preferred form of exercise, like yours, it involves the willing participation of a female. 😛 Mos
