Swing lesson 22 & 23 | Werribee

(Wednesday nights at Werribee Kindergarden Community Room)

Arg! I forgot to journal last week’s lesson!
Dec. 6th In brief:
– Tandem Charleston.
– Speedies (Charleston to beat four, lead’s hand on follow’s hips, turning inside to step right foot behind, then left foot opens up to the left, right foot crossing over again, stamp down on 7 and hold)
– (returning the Speedy, step with left foot on 1, right foot back across to the right, step on 3, left foor across the front to the right, step on 5, back-kick and step with right foot on 7 and 8 as per Vanilla (basic) Charleston).
– Tandem turn to the left, same as Fun Pit.
– Dorothies, same as Fun Pit.
– Suzie Qs! (Right foot steps in-front of left forming a kind of T, pivot on right to open up, left foot out and step, right foot comes back to do the same etc.)

Last night, Dec 13th in brief – final Werribee class for the year. Bridie’s Brunswick was renovating this Monday, so no lesson until the 18th, final lesson for Brunswick.
– Em… what did we do? Oh yeah, it was a Jitterbug stroll which I can’t really explain in a way I’ll remember, it’s in my head now so I’ll just have to practice. This stroll involved much clapping, finger-snapping and what sounds frighteningly similar to yodelling… but it was fun, and a good way to wrap up the semester!

One last class at Brunnie for the year which is good seeing as I’ve burned out my second discount card already and will need to order another one!

Swing forever!

RYN: The workplace I work in is just messed up. I work with a bunch of social workers so they think “a tech person” is just another administrative person that you can get quite easily. Little do they know that we’re very highly specialized. Also, just because I’m a nice person, they think I don’t fight back when I am not treated right. My boss found out that was not the case… *sigh* This nonprofit is notorious for just bad management and the turnover rate is high. For folks to stay a couple of years, like me, is a rare thing indeed therefore I tend to be taken for granted. Wait until April.. hehehehe….
