Pink Ribbon Day

Today is Pink Ribbon Day in Australia, a day dedicated to raising awareness and funds for The Anti Cancer Council with specific focus on breast cancer.

Weeks ago I purchased my own Pink Ribbon pin, and today the office is resplendant with pins and pink t-shirts and clothing, as-well as the official Pink Ribbon Day shirts. Our Administration Assistant was also kind enough to purchase a pink rose for everyone in the office, so the building is absolutely gorgeous today. Not only did all staff members eagerly donate and buy pins and t-shirts, but we all contributed a little more to host a morning-tea for the office, complete with cupcakes with pink icing and pink cakes home-made by our staff. We had funds left-over from our ventures which we will also donate to The Cancer Council.

More than a few people in our office have either had their own breast cancer scares, or have had family members with cancer, and it’s so great that we can get together and do something like this.
