Purchase history…
Saturday saw my brother and I having brunch together in Williamstown and walking around vaguley shopping for things. Vaguely – becuase we didn’t have anything we needed, just wandered about going into shops, picking things up, putting them down, eventually buying the odd item here and there. Daniel picked up a few books on language, most of them comedic; I tend to let him stockpile these and I read his copies. Sometimes one has to be financially clever with such things. I bought a children’s book of which I’m extremely fond. I have a fairly decent collection of children’s books, many in hardcover. Not only do I look forward to sharing them with tiny people, be they other people’s tiny people or my very own, but I absolutely love the creativity of children’s books. While of-course I love the often deep and subtle nature of many of the themes, even the ones that don’t have hidden depth still are fantastic stories to read, often with wonderful illustrations. In that regard, even the simplest of illustrated books are absolute wonders to experience, and there are many cases where a well drawn image and a single simple sentence has spoken louder and more effectively than four-hundred pages of absolute drivel.
We also dropped into a jewellery store where I got myself a broad stainless steel ring. I finally cracked it that the good rings I’ve been given by my various ex-partners I don’t want to wear, so I now have one I never have to get rid of for such reasons. This joins my other until now lonely ring, so once again I have two; the first is a silver band with two thin black lines around its circumference. It’s a great deal lighter both in weight and in appearance, and when I wear both, the black-line ring goes on my left-hand, the wrist of which often holds my watch. The new heavy ring is then worn on my right-hand.
It’s all about balance.
Last Thursday at Swing Patrol in Yarraville, Shob was kind enough to bring us a few bumper-stickers, so I immediately got myself one and plastered it on my rear windscreen. I now join the somewhat secret-society-ish community of vehicles with the Swing Patrol sticker.
Nice.
