The slow, serene pace and simple everyday theme of this anime has made me fall in love with it from the first episode. I adore Miu and her family, and each encounter with them is simple and urbane, yet poignant and heartwarming. This is perfectly suited to what I want to watch right now, and in a very abstract sense, the perfect follow-up to Texhnolyze which I’ve just completed – I don’t expect many to understand that, but it makes perfect sense to me.
Some of the music in this series is also fantastic, and the piano performances are well placed as a part of Miu’s experiences of everyday life. The end theme is also fantastic, sung by Yoko Ueno who is a familiar voice from the Haibane Renmei image album; an instant import purchase!

Oh my… someone else who liked “Serial Experiments Lain” and “Somedays Dreamers”… so good… Most of my friends are into what I term ‘little boy anime’, meaning things like “Naruto”, “Bleach” and “Samurai Champloo”… Yay for anime that has actual character devlopment outside of whacking each other with non-existant pseudo-ninja moves….

RUN: I did appreiciate the tongue-in-cheek aspect of the first ep of “Haruhi”, but it just seemed too eager… beating a long-dead horse. I felt like it was parodying it past the point of humor, and making itself look just plain silly in the process… If I want silly, I’ll go watch “Puni Puni Poemy” again… that’ll melt my brain wonderfully:-P Thank God that one was only 2 eps!

I’ve heard good things about Piano. Is this licensed in the US yet, or available for dl?
