IT’S JUST A GAME. SETTLE DOWN PEOPLE.

playing games online sucks. well, no it doesn’t when you have good players online. i must say, good shout outs to tweeter tb, elite 346 or whatever the three digit number that goes after his name is, and, em, the guy who sent me a friend request that i accepted… which was… something beginning with c… em… you’re a great guy – guy, but yeah – sorry guy, forgot your name – i’ll look it up on my friends list when i get home.

so – shenanigans still well and truly ensue after being away from xbox live for a month. who cares, it really doesn’t matter – the chances of me playing online again in the next week or so are close to nil – though you never know.

and ah… aside from that, i started playing halo: combat evolved (halo 1) single player campaign yet again. i just love it so much, it’s such good fun. running around in halo (second level, after the pillar of autumn) is like being a child happily running about in an adventure playground – a small child armed with a very powerful scoped pistol.
and grenades.

and an assault riffle

it is fun.
you know what i’d like? halo 1: redux. in an era of recycling the same games over and over again, why don’t we just be really blatant? instead of re-hashing an old game with a new title or apparent new story etc., why not just straight-out remake halo 1 on the 360? updated framerate – FIRST goddamned priority, then tweak the graphics if you can and want to, add one or two extra levels, keep dual wielding well and truly OUT of the equation, as it doesn’t add to the gameplay at all, in fact it detracts from it, and most importantly, REDO THE LIBRARY AS IT WAS WELL AND TRULY INTENDED – with all the transparencies in place, each unique level done properly instead of just looking the same everywhere, and all the other areas it was supposed to have available. to be honest, i’d rather that than halo 3. because of the shortfallings of halo 2, i don’t have faith that the story in halo 3, even if it does redeem halo 2, will make it all worth it. arguably halo 2 wasn’t bad, it was just different – sure they (mostly) nailed the framerate, the texture loads were unfortunate, and really unforgiveable, but bearable nonethe less, but the fact that i never feared a clip-out, and rarely had one anyway, i thought was just plain silly. how do we get that sense of fear back into the players when they encounter the flood? i know – energy weapons! that didn’t make a single one of us afraid at all – it just made us all roll our eyes and yell ‘stupid fucking shit’ – and when we died, we didn’t feel as though we were given the opportunity to put up a good fight, or were immersed in a decent scrap, as with the assault riffle/shotgun combo for the library in the first halo. it was just shit. it was really really shit. and boring.

yet another anti halo rant. eah – enough.

mmm halo 1 the way it was supposed to be. I like the idea. However… I’m awfulyl addicted to dual wielding. I can’t help but have a thing for grabbing a gun in each hand and going at it. Could be my Tomb Raider love showing there.
