Books, books, books!!
I doubt any of you would know by my spelling or typing skills, or my appalling use of grammer, but I was a lit major and have a love of books that scares even my husband! I collect books, mainly classics and esoterical books.
When Egocentric did this quiz I knew it was one I wanted to do 🙂
1) Total number of books owned? About 350, it could be more. One day I really need to catalouge them all.
2) The last book I bought? It was a book I bought for Paul for our anniversary, "The Art of Diskworld" by Paul Kidby. Paul is a huge disk world fan and it is a beautiful book. We leave it on our coffee table cause it is fun to flick through and have a funky Mona Lisa pic on the front.
3) The last book I read? OK I have just finished a collection of erotic short stories called Erotica Omnibus Three, Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, Vroom with a view by Peter Moore and You by Anonymous (another piece of Erotica)
4) Five books that mean a lot to me:
1. My mother bought me a complete works of William Shakespeare when I graduated from high school which I love.
2. Master of the Temple by Eric Ericson – it really makes you think
3. The Thoughts of Nanuskua by Nan Whitcomb. I have a poem from that anthology on my front page. It was poetry that I really related to when I was at Uni and my life was being shaped.
4. Animal Farm by George Orwell. I had a fantastic Lit teacher in Years 10, 11 and 12 and he unlocked the many hidden secrets of language and juxtoposition and symbology that are in this book and it was through his teachings and this nook that I developed my love of the english language, reading and liturature.
5. The Gor books by John Norman. They took my on a very personal journey of self discovery.
I have to asdd here that it was so hard to choose just 5 books out of so many books that I have read, laughed over, cried over, re read – books are like old friends who you return to time and time again! I didn’t mention books like The Lord of the Rings and To Kill a Mocking Bird or poets that I love such as Robert Frost or Banjo Patterson. This would have to be one of the hardest quiz thingies that I have done and this sat in a Pvt entry half finished for 8 days while I kept coming back to it.
5) Five people whose answers I’d like to see: I am guessing Perfect Circle would have as hard a time with this as I did and probably Myst would as well. I have a feeling Random Access would have some interesting titles in there and would open up my world of liturature as would Act Natural. In all honesty I would love to see anyone’s answers as I would like to see which "friends=books" you feel are worth some kind of mention.
Just another little piece of me…..
.
If I forget to do this for ya when I get home next week, note me a curt reminder? LOL

Yeah, this “survey” looks so simple when you first glance at it – not many questions and on a narrow subject – but once you start actually trying to answer it, it’s HARD. Also, I’m willing to be you’re like me – at some point after posting this, you thought, “Damn, I should have mentioned THAT one!” xxx,

I wish he would just make a clean break. Heavens knows she is such an odd duck she makes my son look normal. *rolls eyes* *hugs* as of now, no word on the culture *sigh* I hate waiting. and hes still got a temp *growls*
